North Wales Haulage company's

pete 359’s F88, which is now for sale on truck trader with a fridge trailer…

on a road run in south wales

before the F10 I had this Marathon, bit of a rot box but did a good few shows and road runs with her…

What has happened to that marathon now? I drove it when it was new and belonged to Richmond truck hire, it was a flying machine 70+ with its 250 ■■■■■■■ motor/fuller 9 speed, I thought the sleeper cab was really comfy.
Brakes were a bit hairy though !

Hi Trev
I sold it in 2000, with the trailer to match, it is/was in Ireland, but would guess unless the owner had a cement mixer for some filler, or new cab she maybe past saving!
I owned it for 6 years and did quite a few road runs, and it was a fast motor…small world eh!

Hi steelboyF10
cracking pic’s of Williams Bros yard Altami, I remember that fleet of DAF tippers they were bought for hauling coal out of a big open cast pit in the old brickworks off the Ffrewd to Miners road.
The 110 Scania’s were bang up to date at the time ,they had a very big fleet with quite a few yards spread all over.

HI Steelboy ,F10 , IT was John Lewis & his son Pete ,A fine pair who worked hard in the haulage trade , John worked haulge most of his life i new him very well ,he was like a dad to me ,he was fitter and more or less ran E R Websters Buckley for years , last i heard of Pete he was doing a bit for R J Jones ,but that was a long time ago, Yours Barry Waddy

used to park on Precinct Way , Buckley and driven by a bloke who later worked for Hatswells

The lad who drove this was kidnapped in Italy, and was featured in the Evening Leader…when going over the water was big news in Buckley!

Hi SteelboyF10
I remember that Transconti very well it looked the Dogs when it was new and the driver always kept it very clean,if I remember right they had a trailer painted in the same colours.Great to see the picture taken on land at the back of the precinct, loads of drivers who had the wagons home in them days would park up on ground in many areas of the town.
The yard that the Foxley volvo was in ,is that down the lane at the back of the Tavern ?
Always thought that Caddies had a good fleet ,though they worked their wagons hard.

Hi Tow it

The Transcon used to be a regular, and came into the dealer when i worked at quicks Bretton, the spare keys were wired to the clutch master cylinder under the upper panel, happy days! Malcolm Hutchinson used to park his trucke there also, he had an Atki Borderer, had Grapevine? on the head board, also had some Scania 111s

Foxleys yard was on the road down to the Tavern, on the left, also close to a yard were a bloke had an Albion tipper, Griffithis yard was further down on the right, he had an A series ERF, we must have been around at the same time? SBF10
