Hi Steelboyf10
I remember Shones fleet very well ,I lived in the lane end Buckley and their trucks passed most days ,they had a good mixed fleet.I remember their F86 8 legger brick carrier always looked immaculate.
Did Amos only have one eye? seam to remeber him drinking in the Lane End Club.Used to know a lad that went to Shones to serve his time as a fitter but cannot remember his name(too much aluminium) .
They had a very nice F88 with a day cab very rear in this neck of the woods in them days.
Wish I had had a camera when I was a lad as there was a lot of trucks running in and out of the brickyards when Shones were on the roads.
Trevor, was the Secretary at Lane End club, for a few years if I remember right, looked like Amos off Emmerdale , he went on to work regular nights for Shones on the TNT job.I wish I had taken more photos also!

It hit a bridge early in life in Newtown, when Bob left the crane up in the air, but was rebuilt. From what I remember it went on until it was sold, in about 1986 ish and was replaced by a Seddon Atkinson 301 , 8 legger.

The Sed Atki, had a RR 265, was driven by my good pal, Ken Arrowsmith, who is an owner driver now, the truck got written of on the M1 near Crick, when it ran up the embankment
another one of their 88, with the F7’s predecessor in the back ground, that was bought 2nd hand from Lancashire Trucks and ws an ex Salford Van Hire truck, driver was at the time Ronnie Jenkins
