North Wales Haulage company's

Chris Webb:
I remember another company working out of John Summers, not from North Wales though,Dixons of Scholar Green near Stoke. They ran ERFs and shortish tri-axle well trailers,a bit like the ones Summers had. I saw a photo somewhere but can’t find it.

Chris

Hi Chris, Dixons used to do a lot of loads to Northern Ireland from Shotton, along with Shones, used to have a big old boy drove an LVIV ERF, or early A series, heros!!! SBF10

Another cracker CC, must confess I don’t remember Lindfields having a 401, they used to have Seddon four wheelers, and a six wheeler, but went to ,Volvo units when the lads drove, always had a very smart and well kept fleet. SBF10

Hiya Chris happy new year…one day i was thumbin a lift on the roundabout near Dunkirk cafe…one of that Burnhams come from the Shotton direction. i looked across the road for something then herd a thud
looking round there was a coil weighing about 19 ton no more than 30 inches away from my feet. well a lorry had come out of the Dunkirk for Stoke and i jumped in before the Burnhams lorry had pulled up and the driver had walked back to his coil, i bet he couldn’t think where i was.maybe under the coil

I travel that road several times every week and the two of you spotted what I should have known.
Cheers Dave.

most of the Shotton lads used this road to s wales , as it was a better option then the mid wales one ,down threw Welshpool and builth which was actually a bit shorter . thankyou Trevor
