i work with poles,germans,hungarians and to be honest other than the arrogant germans there all nice enough, they earn the same money, but the one that really gets me is the one they work harder than us, im sorry but its ■■■■■■■■, yes they might do when they first come to make a good impression but it doesnt take them long to show there true colours,WHO WAS THE FIRST DRIVER TO ASK WHEN SICK PAY STARTED 
WHO TOOK THE LIST UP SAYING THESE WERE THE JOBS HE WANTED TO DO[max 6 hrs] ETC ETC, there no different to us some will work some wont.
its the same as the places i tip at or collect,i have as much trouble now getting a pole or british bloke to tip load me.
in the week one place i go to the iranian lad takes to 11.30 a.m to get the pallets ready, if its sat /sun the old english bloke has them ready without fail by 9 a.m
as for should they be here , well it wasnt long ago all i heard was agency bods saying the poles etc could have the jobs, they wernt working for ■■■■ wages, now the works dropped off there blaming the poles etc for taking there jobs 
. i feel really sorry for the genuine drivers whos lost his job and cant get one because of foreigners having the jobs, but the agency bods who only want the jobs when it suits them im zb glad the foreigners have got the jobs you want, no sympathy what so ever.
as for all these jocks and sheepshaggers going on about how proud they are, proud of what exactly,one lots noted for shagging sheep, the other lot revel in wearing womens skirts, you always have been and always will be in ENGLANDS shadow
Well I think you will find in the long term people who come here whilst being able to work for crap money at first will soon have the same expenses etc as the rest of us and will then be after more money.
no doubt the goverment will see this and find another way to flood the labour market. Market forces and all that,I find it annoying when I hear a company has to cut wages or jobs to increase profits, yet they have to pay massive sums for chief executives cos they have to pay top money to get the right man for the job. Everything is just a con, even the debate about countries after all borders are just lines on a map that says all this belongs to me, that belongs to you, but none of it belongs to the people.

Last time I looked Scotland was part of United kingdom.
There’s the problem, you don’t see a Pole or a Latvian telling you that he’s from a certain part of the country, he(she) is a Pole or a Latvian or what ever other country others come from. They seem to have more pride than we do, how do I know that, i’ve been married to a Polish girl for the last 10 years. She says she is proud to be polish but her home is here and she tends to agree with me on this subject. In her opinion we have lost a sense of pride in this country. (end of rant).so your saying i shouldnt be proud of the COUNTRY i live in but rather be proud of the union of countries that make up the uk?

thing is it may say on my passport that im a british citizen but thats only a bit of paper and some laminate, if anyone asks where im from its always scotland, i will always be a scotsman no matter what and i will stick to my guns about my roots.unfortunatly we have a blind fifer in no10 which is a bit of a burger but hey nothing in life is perfect

first of all i’ve never seen two poles in a nolan truck either i never said i lost my job to two poles at nolans you just assumed that. i left nolans in 2001 when they dropped the wages from 100 to 75 pounds a day which is what switchlogic was on when he was there, its amazing how stating a personal fact can lead to so many people assuming that one is lying through their proverbial ■■■■
i lost my job to two poles who worked for less than me at a company in south wales which is really a bad sign on the employer as well as ANYBODY not just poles who will undercut the local workforce, if there is a going rate for a job take it don’t lower the rate 
this topic has brought up a lot of feelings with the members about nationality and immigration which was not my intention i simply pointed out that the original post was correct in that a certain company pay less money to certain drivers not all equal!
thanks though must go to browncow and vasco for leaping to my defence against the daily mail educated who think that all us expats are sitting in the sun speaking english, sipping pimms and being hated by the spanish, as mike pointed out simon don’t let the facts get in the way of a discussion.

and no not thinking of working for them lol could go drive 7,5tonner for that in uk
In one of last months german truck mags is a report and they show a letter
which has €1100 as a months wage from a transport company,
thats shocking i would want that for 2weeks with no nights out no wonder they big company when they employe anyone with or without a licence
