Humanity is nothing without Positive Legacy.
If the sum of any human life is to be 4kg of ashes in an urn at the end of it - then what was the purpose of your life at all?
This atheist creed - is rather bleak - isn’t it?
Personally, I would like to achieve something for wider humanity before I pop my clogs.
Since we’re all mortal, one could argue that such a desire for such achievement is anything but “selfish”, and might even constitute martydom if one should perish midway through attemping such positive change/achievement…
I must admit I’ve never been “Secure” because of this sense of mortality.
I can’t imagine what an old crusty millionaire feels - who’s entire lifetime achievements cannot be taken with them, and involved nothing outside of “selfish desires”…
“Altrusim” is no good - because if you spend and achieve for those you never see benefiting from such works - how do you know you were not robbed instead?
People should spend money helping out those in their own communities in need first, politics be damned!
RICH people however - tend to spend money on their loved ones “educating them on ‘how to extract money from people poorer than yourself’ whilst spending money on those they will never meet”
