omg I hope Si is wrong but if hes right please demand money back imeadiatly via e mail stateing why ie no course booked and then get onto someone to get money back surely the bank can see that they are acting dodgy hopefully that will be enough evidence that they have no intention of booking your course should give you more leverage

Quick Update

Thanks to SimonB on here Things are definitely happening now!! To cut a long story short John from Highway called me (after Simon had called him)to fax him my Licence which I did.

Approx. 1 hour later I called Ritchies to enquire if anyone from Highway had been in touch regarding training for me to which the nice lady on the phone said “yes they have but I’m just waiting on your copy of licence coming through”.

I will give them until Lunch time tomorrow then call again.

Thanks again SimonB and thank-you to everyone else. I will keep you posted.

Kind Regards

Craig

Nice 1 well done hope it sorted this time

Cheers animal, me too

Dave from Ritchies called me today. I have to start my training on Friday 4th feb, returning on Monday 7th, 8th, 9th and test on Thursday 9th. One wee problem is that Highway have not yet made a payment to him.

I would chase up both parties - one to make sure payment has gone & the other to make sure they Have recieved it!!

hi Bonnie Lass

Don’t worry, this week I will be on phone constantly to ensure everything is being done. I do not trust Highway HGV one teeny tiny bit and I wish I’d looked into this further before agreeing to anything.

A big thanks has to go to SimonB, a member on here who seems to have got things moving for me. Top Guy!!

Craig

Glad its sorted

ref the fact that Richies havent recieved payment from broker if they dont recieve money will they still honor the course or will it be cancelled as no payment hope other newbies have read this post as it is perfect example of reason to go to trainers direct I wish I had seen this post before I got mugged for my money if its any consolation I know how you feel but one thing I can defo inforce is dont give up you can wear them down just takes time to get money back good luck on your training and test once your in the cab just concentrate on getting that licence

fingers crossed

I hope other ‘newbies’ read this too as I also made the mistake of not looking on here and look at whats happened to me!

As for Ritchies, if Highway do not pay them before my course starts I will have to pay them myself and then take Highway and it’s directors through a small claims court. Would be nice to meet these people face to face, I’d do more than drag them through the courts!!! :imp: :imp: :imp:

Hi craig,
You must be having a rite old time with these clowns. When did you first initially make payment to them? I went through a proper training company ( fast track lgv ) they are a new company and I had similar experiences you did. Phone calls not returned. Mess up on test dates. They even offered for me to go to London where their so called “training centre” was to and put me up in a hotel. I arrived at the “bed and breakfast” and they said I was booked in but it was not payed for. whether it’s just because they are a new company that they have all these niggles im not sure but even my instructor said he doesn’t get his wages on time. I took out the pass protection at a “cheap” £299. They have told me if I pass everything first time I will get £299 back. We will see next week. Hope u get there in the end mate.

Jennie who was the company that stung you and are they still existent?

Sorry but fast track lgv are not a new company they are if fact a broker / middleman

Is this them

They were a broker and a recruitment agency. They do their own training with their own trucks with their own instructors. They may still use third Party company’s for different bits I.e the mod 4 cpc but I’m Not really bothered because I got my course less than it should have been. Due to a ■■■■ up their end. The only thing letting fast track down is their cus services. I initially paid for my course the end of October last year and doing the final Part next week. I did have 2 tests cancelled which wasn’t their fault, one my theory because of a power cut and 2 my practical because of the snow. Their advertising on the website is misleading because it says if you have the Pass protection insurance and fail you can do an immediate retest to which I know for a fact the law states you cannot take a retest until after 4 days of failing you previous. Luckily I never had to do a retest.

It used to be 3 days so must have changed that then

Pleased you passed 1st time

Yep I had several test cancelled due to snow few years back but that another long story

if it wernt for the snow i feel i would be out driving now. something that cant be helped i supppose.

few years back

how long you been driving now? you on class 1 or 2 and how did you come about your first job?
