Well now back on line properly can do this
Well had a call from other half June 9th to as a driver was needed asap so logged into here after a few pm & then the 1st call bout 09.30 that was it sorted by 10.15 was on way after quick shower bag packed a couple other things thrown into car was en route to Barnsley to collect van
Met with Bigvern1 & Glen a quick chat with the boss Wayne we were then on are way had CMR fuel card ( AS24) borrowed sat nav ( as mine didnt cover EU ) Glen followed me as I was limited to 60 
met back up with Bigvern at South Mimms then on down to Ashford where we changed money had to convince the guy behind I was actually freight 
met up with the other driver Mark then well all headed for the train
Fuel at the garage just as we got off the train tried the sat nav only to find it didnt have Romania or Cecz Republic on after a call it was just buy 1 then down through France Mark & Vern had split as they were going to Italy Glen & I parked u for the night not too late
I was up nice & early had coffee already Glen then grabbed a coffee sorted out a route for me as we hadnt managed to get a sat nav or map 
also address for fuel en route & we were off we split a bit further down the road as he was off to Poland so I continued through Germany that night I parked just over the Austrian border as wanted an early start
Found a nice parking area that had toilets & showers was up early mon mor quick coffee & shower I left there found a radio station that played some decent music sun shinning shades on was quite happy then looked at phone realised it want working oh well not a real prob I thought will now just have to use the old fashioned way of no sat nav or phone no map either did stop to look to see if could get a map but to no avail as had to stop & get vingeret for Austria & Hungry found 1 of the fuel station so filled up then continued through Hungry stopped in the truck stop about 7k from the border so just nice got my head down woke up a bit later than I wanted to but not the end of world made a quick coffee then off
Arrived at border control got through ok not much hold up bought vinetta the woman spoke some English so was easy got a 7 day pass then just over the border fuelled up then found the road no. I wanted E70 yep looked a good road so followed that but after several k it stopped as not finished being built yet so which road do I take choice of 2 so decided on 1 of them & had to find my way through Romania with no aid to help after a while did stop & ask a Police officer & he said just keep following this road he had a little English
So eventually found the E81 which is the other road no. I had so en route to Bucuresti got to centre stopped & asked a Taxi driver if he could direct me to Section 3 as had 2 collections there he gave me some directions got a bit closer then asked again not far now got there but was nobody there so round so off round to 2nd address in Section 3 found pulled just in as they had a manhole missing a gentleman came out he could speak quite good English which was a help but unfortunately he only had the office keys & not for the factory which is where I needed
Then a woman shouted at me to move I asked 2 min as a couple of Americans came out to see if they could help I asked "please can you give me a min "
Her NO NOW
Sorry had to pull out but they had said I could stay on the street outside this was 19.00 hr local time & they would be open at 09.00 local time but sorry I didnt feel safe on a back street with no facilities surrounded by shops houses etc in Bucuresti so I made a decision to leave based on what I had been told & read
Made it back to the truckstop just over the border where a got a few hr sleep but new needed to get back to Germany for reception on phone so could call & try to sort out this made the decision not to go to Cecz Republic with nothing so back to Germany it was
I got back over the border from Austria/Germany found somewhere to stop made a coffee then a call to Glen to see how to approach this with the boss he was pleased & relived to hear from me asked if I had spoken to other half “no” was my reply “why” then he told me I had been reported missing ( was never missing I always new where I was 
) I was fine so a few more calls made I would I go to Italy yep np so off to Italy I was
That night I found a nice parking area for the night when it became daylight I was then on my way again was sent a text of 4 collections only to find 1 didnt exists 1 address had been sent twice not ha hugh prob as a few call sorted it all out & which was the best route for me to go got near 1 collection stopped asked just so I knew was in right area yep a map & hand signals just round corner so loaded then on to next in Milan found that but was closed till 14.00 local time eventually got loaded 3 boxes then onto next road I wanted was closed so had to take a diversion which I found loaded 3 pallets
Could I leave the 4th & make way to France for 2 collections so quick en route there what I hadnt said I hate tunnels so yep guess what before I realised I was heading for the Mount Blanc 
so had little choice but to go through poss the best thing but decided to go through that night & stop at other side as would be easier for me which is what I did parked in a layby over the border up early coffee then en route to 1st collection pick up 2 boxes then on to Paris for 2nd
Arrived at 2nd address found quite easy with the help of the sat nav 
but they were on lunch np waited till they were back after a bit of looking then a tape measure found that the pallet wouldnt fit in I said we could hand ball it on after a few calls they decided that it was not going to happen I said I would do it but the guy who was loading me said no ( dont think he wanted to do any work although he wouldnt of needed to ) this pallet was wrapped in black shrink wrap plain brown boxes this would not have been a prob me stripping it down as the boxes are not big or that heavy but no was the answer so was asked to leave & yes the customer new this as they asked me to
A couple more calls made I left did have to stop not far away was on a slight incline put handbreak on had to open door & jump out as something had dropped in the foot well of the van was about to pick it up when the van started rolling back trapping my right foot under the wheel it then threw me down & dragged me a few hundred yards back before I managed to get up & put other foot on the foot break not sure how I done this but I did was a little shaken my foot was badly swollen took a few min then was en route home
A little battered a bruised but managed to drive through France to channel tunnel where I fuelled up then onto train stopped at Toddington for a shower on way up as J26 was closed continued up for a while before stopping in a layby for a few hr then quick coffee before continuing to Holyhead for the ferry to Dublin tipped there then back to Dublin for ferry back then en route home they now cant find 2 of the boxes I picked up in France so
Took van back on the mon
I have been to hospital to have my foot & shoulder out but it is soft tissue damage just keep taking the pain killers as & when required they will heal in time
So now looking for another job
I hope you realise that you’re nearly qualified for a trip to Sunderland!!!
