there is supposed to be a documentary about led zeppelin out next month
Have you seen The Eagles one?
Made a year or so before Glen Frey died.
Jeez those guys had issues.
Not in the same league but i watched dean martins life on sky the other day.
What a story, if you knew anything about his career he was more popular as a singer in America than an actor, his tv shows were top of the list for 10 years, his vegas shows sold out for years. The films were a side line.
He was best mates with gerry Lewis for years and they fell out.
He refused to go to jfk becoming president because Sammy Davis junior was not invited but frank sinatra went even though they were all doing the rat pack at the time and were all friends, that’s how they all met jfk at the rat pack shows
He was in a film with marlin Monroe and the studio sacked her and he walked out and refused to return unless she was reinstated and got great respect for his loyalty
His long term wife divorced him after years together because she finally realised she was never going to get him to open up and talk to her and yet he was a fabulous dad to his kids
He had a bad upbringing and after his mum and dad died and then his divorce, his son was killed in a plane crash
He was never the same after that
All them tv own shows he did was all off the cuff, he never rehearsed it was in his contract that he would just turn up on filming day do it and he would review it before it went on air like days before and approve it
Great documentary
Not many people remember Sammy Davis junior, dean martin, and frank sinatra were the main lead actors in ocean 11 the first film
Just to add he knocked elvis off number one spot
Went to see Celebration Day at the cinema when it came out, was ace. Still watch it again occasionally on YouTube
Did they ever . Haven’t watched it I’ll look for it.
Like Fleetwood Mac. ■■■■■■ hated each other most the time but their music is still played today so can’t be that bad
i went and saw it last night both my friend and i enjoyed it
RIP Marianne.
Didn’t she come from your neck of the woods, Cav?
I heard this the other week that I hadn’t heard in ages, the bass line just popped out to me & I had to get the bass out to play it
No she was from London, although Mick Jagger came from Dartford.
Browsing Youtube I found her version of Dylan’s Visions of Johanna, the guitar is sublime.
She went to school in Reading.
Thought it might have been Slough what with her and Mick’s affection for a Mars Bar!
I don’t do new music generally but I did look this guy up after hearing him. He can kick out a tune.
He might think singing’s a proper job, but he still needs a decent haircut.
What about the then contemporary rock band ‘Yes’.
Mostly an ‘album band’ but this track produced by Trevor Horn who has produced FGT Hollywood, ABC and many more, put them in the singles chart.
