Music you may not have heard

Speaking of Green day, I have for years said that I want this to be the song played as my coffin comes down the aisle/ into the landfill/ floated off on a Viking boat or whatever they decide to do with me.

@maoster you must like the Ramones.

Love ‘em mate. Sheena is a punk rocker being my absolute favourite

I’m not a fan, some Green Day and Ramones are orright, but my son is right into both.

^^^ I’d forgotten how good an album American Idiot was. Even the usually stern faced forkies appreciated my choice of music last night.

This is the original version of a much covered song. The back ground to how it was recorded is interesting.

Ok you’ve all heard this…but who cares.

An excuse to showcase the delicious Kim Wilde.:sunglasses:

Been.a fan since she started, and she still looks lovely today at 63…(I’ve always been a mug for attractive blondes…my weakness. :joy:)

Amazing back story.
Discussingly, Diggers returning from Vietnam were mocked, abused and spat upon by some members of the public.
Despite the conscripts’ view on the controversial war, they served their country, they deserve respect.

Define ‘members of the public’ obviously by implication pro Communist ?.Yes it could/should have been limited to an air war dedicated to wiping Hanoi off the map.

The 80’s artificial techno keyboard and drum beats grated a bit to my 70’s tuned ears but ironically I actually liked that version as much as the original. She was also very easy on the eye.

Indeed they do, but sadly the treatment they got had a sad effect on them once back and drink was one of their solaces. More than once I was accused of being one of those ‘members of the public’ without having said a single word about it when I had them in my taxi, simply because I was also a young bloke but living in Sydney instead of Saigon, they thought everyone was against them in sharp contrast to the young American boys who were respectful and polite, but who presumably were not treated the same way there.

More drivel from the bloke with zero knowledge or understanding of the situation.

@spardo I think all wars are brutal and mentally injurious to almost every combatant, but Vietnam seemed worse than WW ll, that could simply be my take on it, as I wasn’t there in '39~45.
