Music you may not have heard

Alas, the road ahead is long.

Yep definitely a Slade fan Play it Loud and Slade Alive were my default choices among some other good singles and like the caricature of records like Squeeze Me I knew the silly later clothes styles were just a way to make a few quid from their naive tartan flares and platform shoes wearing ‘fans’ .
So for me it was either Doc Martens or ordinary work boots or my sensible and good quality Solatios.I also never liked flared trousers or jeans, if I could avoid them.
I also preferred to wear a Parka not because I was ever a Mod but because it was warmer than a Duffel Coat or a Crombie.
As for my Dad’s idea of cool that was Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack or Glenn Miller and his idea of fashion was a demob suit more than flares and platforms.
1970’s indeed

I suppose my Dad was used to ‘flares’ or bell bottoms he had just left the Royal Navy.

That explains it Rob.Also probably white shirts in Summer and dark blue in winter.

If you like the “blues” try this guy .prrfect on a long run.
Justin Johnson plays a guitar like an angel
Superb

Try Justin Johnson for blues guitar
“feelin like im knocking on heavens door” on you tube
His guitar is F* sublime

To add Rob how can you make any specific cultural musical genre from the examples of Dapple Rose, to the content of Slayed Alive, to Were All Crazy Now, to Look Wot You Done, to How Does it Feel ?.
The Parka and minimal flared jeans, boots or Solatio shoes wearing oik, with mid length hair, seems to fit that.
Never thought about it in the day.

I hadn’t heard either of these rather catchy tunes. They were the backing track to an unrelated video. I had to use an ap to find out what they are.

For some reason I always used to confuse Lowdown with Took the Last Train.Very similar tunes to my ears.

I wouldn’t exactly call it music, but it certainly has a certain thing (the inimitable JCC of course)

I doubt whether many have heard this lovely version of a well known song

Apparently he wandered into the recording studio late one night and performed it in one take! Genius

Actually I have, he was on breakfast news a while ago. Well worth another listen.

I’m a huge fan of American Punk. The Offspring, Blink 182, Green Day et al. I love this particular video, when I first saw it I thought that it must have been from a movie, but apparently not. Well worth a watch anyway.
