I’ve got a multi drop tomorrow and it’s 50 drops round Birmingham / Coventry area , I’ve done 8/9 in a artic but not 50 in a van , so has any one done this type of work and have they any advice for me . Ta
Wind up?
Why would a concrete class 1 driver be doing 50 drops in a van?
If its not pre routed for you try and get a look at a postcode sector map of the area you are covering, so you can plan a sensible sequence and organise the van to suit when you load. The first half of the route will be a ball ache if you have to rummage about trying to find each stops stuff.
If you are delivering to residential then have a stack of missed you cards with you.
I’d tend to sequence up to 20 stops on the TomTom and re order manually to clear a sub postcode district before moving on.

because it is better on diesel and much easier to park up.
My first driving job was multidropping prescriptions for a pharmacy 80+ drops a day.
Easy peasy once you know your area but it helped that I’d lived their for 18 years.
Found some old bloke lying behind his front door one day after a fall.
Grow a pair and tell them you took employment as a HGV driver, not a bloody parcel courier
Run for the hills! The only driving job I’ve ever done that I hated, 80/90 drops a day driving my brothers van while he was on holiday.
Everytime you stop run to the door/shutter
If it’s Residental stops run to the door then run back to the van to get the package don’t wait for an answer.
Get in early as possible to plan route/fill up.
Know what your first 10 deliveries are, saves you messing about trying find them.
Keep small packages in the cab, saves opening the back.
Don’t be Rude to the customer but at the same time don’t chat and don’t help them get it inside or up the stairs, doorstep delivery only.
If the customer wants you to wait then tell the they have to sign for it refused or take it now.
Drive as fast as possible. 80 in 70s etc just like a car.
Without knowing the area it will no doubt be a struggle.
Go like ■■■■ all day never stop.
Hand the keys straight back, ideally with your best dragons den “I’m out” impression.
With luck you’ll be done by 4 o’clock Friday. …
Cider n footie.

More like he’ll be done by 4pm Saturday and miss the footy,
it is Capt calamity (aka Dozy) we’re talking about.
Though I didn’t know there where 50 tesco stores in his area, and with Dozy’s reputation that’s 50 DOT Com vans & 50 stores to damage

You’ll not get much concrete on there! Is this your punishment for losing all your straps?

I’ll give it a go , but 50 , I always got one long hold up when doing 9 in a artic , but I’m hoping 80/90 everywhere in a van will make the time up

Concrete drops off this time of year so we normally get shipped into something else , but not a bloody van ( didn’t know they had any )
