hey bigrig

i have just had a thought, for some unkown reason i thought that you were talking about making a model in 1/24 scale, all what i said is true in this scale, but you could make one in 1/50 scale very easily,i dont know why i didnt tell you this yesterday as its the scale that i work in   :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: i hate getting older.

anyway you can buy quite a cheap corgi man 6x2 of ebay & strip it down, strip the paint off & repaint it, i have done quite a few of these in the past & you can also by a flatbed trailer too in this scale, let me know if you need any help or more info.

cheers

Thanks i will have a look and let you know how i get on,cheers

more work done on the near side which is now complete
hydraulic controls made and fitted as well as outlet pipe for the compressor

cab tilt mecahnisim and and control box

tomorrow start on the offside and hopefully get the chassis painted before im back in work

usual update before i go back into work tomorrow chaps.
well finally got the nearside looking pretty much like the original so time to get some primer on it, only for it to fall off the hook as i was spraying ](*,)
trip out to asda to chill me out and two hours later had the rear axle and airtanks glued back in place, two coats of hurricane grey before bed and this morning turned the attention to offside.
there is a filter above the mid lift on the original so this was made using various sizes of tube and strip

ive had to make another two side lockers after my bad calculations originally so these are now 15x15 mil, made using card and slamlocks from kfs,
one made, one half built.

heres a side on view of the position of the bits and bobs, as you can see from the back of the cab that thanks to the generousity of two forum members (al and daz) ive now got the extingushiers and brush and shovel

right im off, missus is on way round and i need a beer! laters…o:)

Hi folks, sorry to ■■■■ in, but just been looking down the thread, and it would be a good place to post…

I have a substantial collection of Dinky trucks from the 50s for sale. Loads of interesting pieces, some sought after.

Some are still in box’s (orginals, not repo’s)

Some trucks/box’s are in exceptional condition for year, some not so.

Anyone interested in the job lot?

Hi all first of all I must say to Stretch lovely bit of work that transporter of yours well done bud looks brilliant !!
Just finished an Iveco for my collection of old Southampton Hauliers

Hi Will88 it’s just the plastic plate supplied in the kit with the decal on it !
Cheers Will

Regards Jimski

Is the mistake the bands around the fuel tank…on the model thay are chrome with rubber scrubbers underneath, and on the real thing they are red?

Hi Hilltop4 no mate nearly right your in the right area the tank is on the wrong way the little bulge on the front side should have been on the top, it got pointed out to me on another site  but it’s now corrected !
That’s what you get building without looking at the plans! The Crome straps just glam it up a bit
Regards Jimski

Hi jimski that is fantastic mate I’m still on my first one and if I can get it looking anything near that I’ll be well happy
Top job that. Dave

The Susie’s are in the wrong order too, common mistake though, should be Yellow, Blue, Red from the left. Nice build all the same, I’ve still got one of these to build one day when I get around to it. Franky.

hi all, these are a few of the latest additions, all 1/24 scale, thanks,

will.

here is a few of a scania t cab.

Nice one, i like it a lot. Got any more?

a volvo a scania and 2 of an man of mine

Hi all, here are a few photos of my latest build, its a Volvo FL10 gritter/snowplough based on an Emek cab and chassis, the rest is scratchbuild, the wheels are my own resin cast first attempts. Still need to fit the windscreen wipers and rear lights, but other than that its done. Its not based on a real lorry, just a bit of free lance fun:

Cheers
