Dennis, we often had multi drop loads which kept us away all week. probably starting at Norwich, then work your way south with about 12 to15 drops and finish around Bournmouth /Poole on wednesday, load scrap metals on pallets, then to Apv Crawley to load for APV Billingham. Tip friday and reload with all the stock to go back to Newcastle to be sorted for next weeks multiloads. Ps. No M25 then and only one tunnel at Dartford. Regards Kev. (Also no empty mileage)

Would he have reloaded from Reeds, via Reed Transport. We loaded regularly for many years from Reeds usually for Wigan or Hartlepool out of Larkfield and for Barrow out of Tovil mill.Cheers Dennis.
Yea Dennis,i think all the Jebbs work that that we done that was’nt on change over loaded back to H,pool and paper to Spicers at Washington and sometimes Leeds .This was direct work with Reeds,as you will know there was always plenty of Stiller’s in Larkfield and the mills in that area.Vic

Aye Vic,Stillers were regular contractors for Reeds same as ourselves,we started loading at Reeds Tovil Mill in 1973 which was reels of core board for the Bowater Scott mill at Barrow then our work out of Reeds just sort of grew until we probably were loading 2 or 3 motors a day regularly, they were decent lads at Reed Transport and the appreciated using reliable contractors.Did you ever see a firm called P.A.D.Transport in Reeds, the directors of this firm were,I believe,ex Reed Transport management but they always seemed to be a bit of a dodgy outfit to me,they packed up in the later 70’s I think. We also loaded out of Reeds at Thatcham on occaision.Happy days,Cheers Dennis.
