Renault have compittion for the ugliest truck.
Apart from the fact it’s a ■■■■ Mercedes. …From what I’ve heard (and seen) about the virtual spontaneous combustion tendencies of electric vehicles and lithium batteties,.I’m not sure I’d feel safe sleeping in the ■■■■ thing.
I can’t see Tyson Burridge bring first in the queue for an order anyway.

Daymen don’t have that issue.

I see what you did there.
I like the look of the e-Actros 600, I really like those inboard screens instead of wing mirrors. youtube.com/watch?v=nBc6IMIFkAA

Perhaps they will expand the permitted use of ferry mode to also allow for getting on and off the charger during a daily rest.

doubt it it will only do 311 miles before a recharge so 6 hours driving and you have to charge the thing

Maybe sounds like my kind of truck after all.
Sat on my arse for x no of hours getting charged and getting paid…what’s not to like.
Teararse artists/max hour heroes?..give it a wide berth, nothing to see here for you.
Not as ugly as the buzzing rigid I saw yesterday after over 4 hours stuck on the A12. Hideous looking thing that was but that merc doesn’t look that bad IMO.
It’s ugly but maybe it might be alright. You dont have the noise and vibration of a dirty diesel engine and gearbox. The deisel engine is noisy, inefficient and pollutes the air to a great extent. We have to move on from it

Thats 500km. It may well be true that you work harder than I do every day, but I just had a check back on tachomaster and I have 17 shifts where I have done over 500km this year and only 2 over 600. My crude maths made that 0.41 per week on average.

You REALLY need to stop readily and automatically believing and regurgitating every ■■■■ thing that bodies of authority dictate to you mate, and come to conclusions of your OWN.
Modern diesel engines are of the cleanest running they have ever been, the damage has been done by older and much less efficient versions.

Overnight charge in a bustling truckstop alongside all the running fridges, instead of your typical haunts comprising pie pint peace and quiet?
As the song from Oliver goes ‘‘i think i’d better think it out again’’

Good point well made Juddian.

Electric trucks would seem so clean and quiet, but there isn’t the renewable capacity to make it more efficient at the moment anyway.
There isn’t really much argument about the fact that production of the batteries uses a lot of energy too.
Fire in a multi storey car at Luton airport after an explosion.
They are blaming a diesel car…because we ALL know diesel cars (that are now coincidentally the pariah of cars ) have always been prone to exploding for no reason…where as modern electric cars are not, and it would do no good to the campaign to have negative publicity.
Draw your own conclusions.

No desk work or spannering for me! Our Depot is south west and the predomenantly LNG fleet doesn’t have a much better range than that of the truck in question.
Saw a daf cf electric truck being towed the other morning

Brilliant those fire investigators.
Despite hundreds of cars fireballed and the car park itself collapsing (due no doubt to the intense heat a Diesel car burns at ), almost before the fire is out they’ve sifted the wreckage and determined this years enemy of the agenda is to blame.
Nothing to see here move along now.
