Hi I am new to driving and have recently got a job with a company.
I am a day driver and I am regularly running close to my total hours per day.
In your opinions what are companies views on paying the M6 Toll on your fuel card to get home?
We normally have expenses forms to get back any money we have paid out, so they do repay some expenses.
Any information about oils be greatful

The best person to ask is your transport manager some fuel cards can only be used for fuel, skin my opinion you need to talk with the company to find out

Ask your gaffer.
At my place if you have to use it then use it but try not to obviously as it’s rather expensive.
We use our shell card, think they take dkv, others may know better.
Well it doesn’t matter what our opinions are, it matters what your boss’ opinions are.
FWIW, we run the toll about 50/50 depending on how busy it is, we leave it to the driver’s discretion.
Doesn’t often save you much time in my experience unless there is a notable problem on the M6. Even then, I tend to use the A50 is a free alternative for heading north/south.
We use Keyfuels cards to pay, is handy from time to time.

The A50 is my preference often, but sometimes the toll works well. Being double manned and if they are on overtime, the toll becomes well worth it if the 6 is looking busy.
Leave the M6 toll to the car drivers, use the M6 or the A38/A5
Always ask the question.
Most places don’t. But if you feel you may run out of time ring and ask.
Take all major cards.
Can buy oil with key fuels card . If says on card front diesel oil gas lube.
Dartford toll is done online. Can’t be avoided really.
New runcorn widnes bridge is a toll done online .
Yet the new forth road bridge is free well done to Scotland.
And they scrapped the tolls on old bridge once it paid for itslef.
Now am I a cynic or wasn’t that supposed happen on the m6 Dartford etc.
Once paid for will be free. Or they still paying for it
Dartford crossing is paid off I’m sure, making it free or doing anything that benefits motorists pockets doesn’t tie in with London politics though.

You still pay at Dartford, for the maintenance and exceptional amount of staff they employ, O and to fund the next crossing when they can decide were it’s going, or just to put money in to the government piggy bank.
M6 toll lets you roll with cruise control. I told my boss it would save him money and he got me a tag.

The toll is 7 miles longer, with a dead stop in the middle, I save 10 minutes on my trip back not using the toll when the M6 is clear of incidents and roadworks!
If I was an o/d I’d use the M6 toll only after assessing the pros and cons. If the M6 was free flowing then obviously I’d use that, if was congested but moving I’d still use it. Any stop start traffic or accidents then it’d be the toll every time, especially when you bear in mind that it costs in excess of £1.60 every time you accelerate a 44 tonne truck to 50mph from a standstill.
What I cant understand is people who pay for the toll then stop at the services.

Apart from the cost, whether to use the Toll road is exactly the same decision as choosing between any of several possible routes, you’ll use every means you have (ie traffic info on your phone or pratnav) to work out which will be the easier and less congested route at the time, preferably using the one that allows you to cruise in a high gear for extended periods on as flat land as possible.
I haven’t used it for ages because we are almost never in danger of running out of time, but if delayed and the Toll would make life easier then a quick call for permission and the OK would be given.
Next time i use it i’ll zero the fuel readings and make a note of the fuel used end to end, then compare with a normal M6 run and see what the difference is, doing this on one of my regular shortish runs has been an eye opener, where the probably 40% longer route being motorway and dual carriageway actually uses less fuel than the direct A road route whilst taking roughly 5 minutes longer.

You can’t do that. If heading North or South you come to the services before the toll booths.

There´s no time limit though, right?
The toll is free if you overnight in the services too.
