Is it financially viable to use this road in the rush hour for £11? Only used it once on a time sensitive load, other wise I just sit in the traffic, but that gets boring after a while.
you would think so.
the amount of time/fuel iv`e used sat on the m6 around brum is considerable to say the least.when i was at stobbies my truck was fitted with a tag…sheer bliss.

During busy periods I would say it’s almost certainly financially worthwhile, I’m surprised so many companies seem to prefer having drivers sat in heavy traffic on the M6 burning fuel and wasting time

44 tonne articl salaried so would benefit me to not waste time in traffic less vat = £8.80, dont pass brum often just gonna ask my boss if its fine to use it when i do, I hate tolls, we used to avoid Humber bridge because of what they charged, back then it was roughly the same cost to go round, so was mainly done in protest at the charges.

If more people started to use it, our Wonderful Government would see it as another Cash Cow. Then stick Thieving Tolls everywhere , then before you know it, it will be more Financially Viable to sit at home on Benefits because it will be ‘sooooo’ expensive to run any vehicle or it will take ‘soooo’ long to get anywhere.
(just have 11 kids & they will give you a Brand New 6 bedroom Mansion complete with stables for the horses ! ‘Simples’)

Do you know how much extra mileage it is to use the toll road and pay for the privilege? How much is the charge per mile for a large goods vehicle It makes your fuel bill seem insignificant by comparison
When motorists start paying to use roads that they have already paid 20 times over to build where will it all end
Pay into the nhs and when you need to go into hospital premier inns charge you for the bed
I would say that if there is any hint of traffic on the regular M6 then the journey using the toll road will be cost neutral - certainly within a £ anyway

+1.
I hate the fact that tolls exist, and will avoid where possible, rather see the companies go bump than put money into their slimey hands
I like the sign just past Cawley services that always states ‘M6 Toll Clear’.
I wonder why it nevers says ‘M6 Clear’
(money grabbing Gits )
I use it, can’t stand traffic jams.
Being an O/D i use it regularly if traffic is bad so easy and i use credit card plus i get the receipt to put through the books + saves driving hours
A5, A38, A446, M42
if running south of Birmingham, no toll fee and quicker than sitting in the traffic

The fact that it has “M6 Toll Information” above it in large, friendly letters may be some indication…
Bloody annoys me that I’ve been told in the past not to use it, when I’ve been struggling to get back within my 9 hours driving, or 15 working, but the other week I was told to use it, as the truck I was in needed to be back for a big service.

Never noticed that bit, just get’s mad at the same message every time I go past.
I agree; sign should definitely give advice on M6 first as the sign boards are supposed to be giving general info.
M6 Stuffed, M6 Toll Clear would be acceptable! EXCEPT FRIDAYS, as you would not need informing about the M6 being Stuffed on a Friday.
I thought it was coded language, if it says M6 toll clear what it really means is that the M6 proper is also clear. Doesn’t it say something like M6 ‘proper’ delays when there is really problems??

The other signs do indeed give general info - but that particular sign is for “M6 Toll Information” (like wot it sez across the top) - so that’s what it shows.
When I’m pulling up the sliproad going around onto the M42 Tamworth northbound, there’s always a few cars that I don’t think realise where they are going, and often an obligatory stobby combination too… I would have thought they would encourage their drivers NOT to use this M6 Toll road, that can easily be circumvented after all, especially late at night which is when I usually find myself in that neighbourhood.
