The more you put on the back of a Scania the better they go !!! unless they sink
Hi Pat, glad i wasnt the only one, do you remember coming out late one night to pull me out when DEV got stuck in up to the diff right outside my house, you came up with LJA with a box van Loaded and pulled me out !!

Pat Scorey “Scorey with a P” chaperoned me on my first trip to Italy. 2 loads of stainless steel for Eric Baker to Metalcom Milano. I unloaded first, Pat helped me strip out. He went to get his lump hammer only to find the MAN had gone from the front gate!
Hi Gazzer i take it this is the one Pat was telling me about this Thurs ■■ Did Bakers get it back ■■ Jimski
Yes it did come back a couple of weeks later, Funny thing was, the F10 got nicked a few months later (Bob Edwards was driving it) and turned up at Concorrezzo lorry park (waste ground version) after 2 weeks minus the CB and radio.
Early one morning this happened…I even managed to get on the radio. Cops left me there til after the 9am rush hour. Location: Turnpike roundabout A419. The Kermits had loaded all the double stacked pallets at the rear, virtually nothing on the front. By all accounts there had been a diesel spill/accident just before the roundabout earlier that night. I just slid straight on! Still I got me an Eminox out of it rather than the genuine Volvo pipe (Eminox was cheaper)
I was pulled out by a guy further down the hill towards Cirencester with an ATki wrecker I think… charged me £100 cash. All that was needed to get on was a cab suspension air pipe fix. I had a straight thru pipe for months afterwards, waiting for the insurance to sort.
Bad Karma… showing all these mishaps, I’ve had a few but was embaressed to photo them.
ainacs
Pat I hope the VOSA lady didn’t trouble you too much at West Moors on friday, but as you filled the layby up it gave me time to slip by unnoticed (Hopefully)
Jeremy

Hi Tony.Just had several senior moments.Been talking to Nobby on the landline and spent
A long time trying to remember names from long ago.Gave up in the end and went on to
our ailments and aches and pains.Feel a lot better now.Regards Charlie
Ps.Has anyone heard from MaggieD.Hope you are well Richard.
So the Cooper Group, Boyes Conning and Tinnelly have still got hidden links with Millgold Investments.
How do the O licence and financial checks work as someone must be looking into all these links with Faridoon Yaghoobzadeh
Just been on to the Roadtransport.com website and noticed that Tinnelly has bought
the goodwill of Boyes Conning from the liquidators for £20,000.The plot thickens eh?
Regards Charlie
TK Dave:
Cast your minds back to the mid 1970s ( younger members ask your parents or grand parents). Anyone recall the following two firms who worked out of Southampton Docks?Arthur Kneller Transportation. Yellow and blue rigid flatbeds (general haulage tramping in a Leyland Terrier or Ford D series four-pot day cab anyone?)
BFC. Had a yard at Eastleigh and the Cunard container contract, although also did general. May have owned AKT (see above). Known without much affection as ‘Barney’s Flying Circus.’
Any recollections, observations and especially pictures welcome. I worked briefly for AKT, (who’s transport manger was an ex-Middle East hand,) and where I learned to rope and sheet.
bfc was run by auther and barry jellis. barry went on to own shamara and pentalvers and is now with roberts at eastleigh.
Hi Gary I know that feeling and yes this was a 6X2 stuck in on a site at Romsey with a 50 ton wheeled crusher on it’s back!!!

A good question!
The crusher/trailer had hydaulic legs so they dug out under them and then packed timber etc under then and then raised the crusher. That big 30ton 360 slew machine pictured behind then pulled my unit out with very litte damage

Hi Pat yeah thanks for that i think it looked better in blue and cream ! Pentalver painted it in their colours when Barry Jellis bought it off me and Trevor McNess drove it while i got given ( if i can remember rightly) a Guy or some thing of that discription YUK !!
Hi R Jacko i found that mag about that Scammell Handyman, it was in the Oct issue of Heritage Commercial, which read " next month Alan Barnes Dons his sunglasses and visits Ian McConachie to see his recently completed Scammell Handyman thats been returned to the bright yellow livery of its original owners Meachers Transport. and that will be in Nov issue. R Jimski,
