I have spoken to my good lady and she confirms that John Glance has an American connection she thinks he maybe went to school there whilst his Father was working for Shell based there, and remembers when we were weekended he went skiing on the Blanc, with two tilt boards out of an STS trailer,he also was quite good on the guitar, which made a change from some of the other lads who were quite good on the fiddle
If I remember rightly he took the name off the cab but left the border on, I don’t know if Nunky had it after he may well have.
Regards
Richard

Hi everyone, do any of you remember a company from Burbage that were seen for a long time in and out of soton, the company in the old days was called Charles Eady Transport then changed over to his son David Eady, who helped set up TIPRO INTERNATIONAL and were seen all over europe and Scandinavia as far up as Helsinki, i believe they had a go at middle east as well, would like to hear from any of you that new them and their drivers.
David Eady ran some Renaults some years ago under the name of Ureaka Transport - Early 90’s
Evening Richard and the lovely information Lady Angie, I always knew she had an eye for the other drivers Richard. As for that man who used to ski its him we have to blame for a lack of STS tilt boards and jf Griffo had found out who it was he would have charged him as he never put them back.
As for your mention of musicians I suppose that slur about fiddling was a cheap swipe at that poor pensioner Charlie from Alton way, you wont ever get that DKV card back now you have blown it. Amazing how peoples memories are jogged and then they remember things like it only happened yesterday. Mine was jogged this week when I was reminded I married the Boss in 1976 that’s nearly 40 years of service I have put in, do you think I should receive an award, probably better to shut up at this point.
Reminds me of Abraham Lincoln who said " better to remain silent than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" cheers Buzzer.
Hi all, I know this photo has been on before but I’m doing a bit of digging for Trucker Ash does any one know any thing about the Jameson F88 cos I didn’t think they had 88’s now I think that would be Buzzer in the 110 do you know who that was John ? Bit before my time I’d say ! is there any more photos of said 88 ■■?

Hi Jim.My claim to fame is that I drove the 88 fo a while until I resigned my commissio. Sorry. Got the sack. Don’t want to talk about it! Regards Charlie.
Jimmer now you solved that one with the F88 as Charlie has owned up to being the faulty driver. Think that was a one off Volvo in Jamesons as they were pretty much sold on Scania’s. Now as for the F10 I know that that was brand new and was doing a milk round literally think the operator was an N.Riley from Bristol way but some one will know, it was loaded with those little whatsitsname milk you put in a cup of tea or coffee he had loads of drops on for several countries, hope this is of help to you mate gotta get back to planting me spuds, Cheers Buzzer.
For some reason I have a feeling James Ponting from Andover had that F88 when Jamesons sold it,maybe he had one in similar colours it’s a few years ago now !
Richard my wife is flattered by your comment, do you remember who had the American truck cab over thingy that did traction out of Southampton he came from up the A34 a bit IIRC do you recall who I mean, JD.

Here Buzzer have some more ,these pests are prepping the allotment ,they have a habit of getting on flat bodies and battery boxes though !
PD this year we let the chicken into the plot all winter and they ate every thing not a weed in site but I bet anything the weeds will return and try and take over and never plant any, don’t know where they come from Buzzer.

Buzzer I think the guy you are thinking about who owned the White cabover was Cardin I never did know wether that was his first name or his surname
Think you are right there Ian bit of an odd character IIRC, did he pull for SRF seems to ring a bell, at the time it just seemed an oddball motor to run European if you had a Volvo or Scania you had a better chance of getting fixed if ought went wrong, Buzzer.

Hi John,
Ian is right it was Cardin Garrett, or as Chad on Mammoth called him “Garden Carrot” He lived in Whitchurch. When he finished with the transport, he had a tyre business in Andover, and then worked for Micheldever Tyres round the corner from Ian,that’s the last time I saw him,but last week I was picking some vehicles up in Andover and the guy there knew him and said he helps his daughter now who has a sandwich round business in Andover.
That White was an uncomfortable ride compared to European stuff, but that Cat engine used to purr along.
James Ponting did have a Jameson’s painted F88. I remember him coming into Prince’s with it. Whether he was subbing for Jamies I wouldn’t know but I’m sure he had a tie up with DF Ranger. He may have been using Ranger’s account to pay his bill. I’ll ask one of the Ranger boys when I’m back over.
