Hi all,

I think it could be Pete (R.I.P.)

Regards
Richard

Talking of Pete Monger I remember back when I was doing a bit of casual work for Skillbeech and I had to load a tilt with if memory serves large air con units which had to be roped down in the tilt I loaded it roped it took it back to Bakers Wharf and it was Petes load for Italy ! Knowing Petes reputation I thought it better not move !!
Any way on his return "Oi you come here " I thought oh no!! “Good bit of roping that mate never move at all”
See so my time in the navy wasn’t wasted, or all the bleeding loads I roped and sheeted for Meachers, ain’t roped or sheeted any thing for 30 years now but I bet I could still get it tight as a drum !
I’d love to have a crack at it and see !
R Jimmer.

Taughtliner ! What’s that ■■

Though on reflection I think i,d need help with both now… Lol

Tone you could get a trike and they do them electric now so you don’t have to pedal ! Buzzer.

Being a Southampton (postcode) lad I thought this might be the place to mention that I have just received my HGV licence renewal reminder, which means I have now had a HGV licence for 50 years. Not sure if I am boasting or complaining  . I remember going to ‘The Castle’ HQ of the Hampshire County Council in February 1965 with proof of being over 21 to get Heavy Locomotive on my licence (I think that was the lorry class back then). The next day I was driving a 14 ton Bedfort tipper. Since then I have driven most marques and combinations and, assuming I pass the medical and renew, still have a ‘casual’ job running to Turkey (from Bulgaria) as and when required when I’m not in the UK.
