Got to agree we had a good time and many miles were travelled.
It was good to meet Dave again and all the others.
But I must admit we all did have a good laugh when that w**ker Tony left!!! You had to be there to understand!!!
Only joking Tone as the rest will tell you!!!
Good time and the greatest of people! Thank you all for an afternoon of real nostalgia
Regards to you all Pat
Got home on the Wednesday boat, P’mth to Caen, arriving here at 8.00pm. Only saw one British truck on the ferry, a few years ago it would have been full with 'em, I feel sorry for the continental haulage lads, it’s a dying trade by the look of it…
Nice to see you again Pat, and the other lads of course, all looking well, except for Mappo, who’s always been ugly anyway. I hadn’t met Jimski until Sunday, although we’ve e-mailed each other a few times, so it was nice to put a name to a face, and I’d not met JD and young Horry either, the rest of them I’ve known forever, well, 45 years at least…how time flies…Sorry that Richard and Angie couldn’t make it ( hope your mums OK Richard ), still maybe next time.
The thought of having the August reunion at Le Harve…might make that one, long drive from here, but it’d be worth it…
We’ve plenty of space, parking for camper vans, parking around the corner for coaches, ( Pat and Jim ! ) beds for the more affluent, and tents for the poor and needy…donations and food hampers gratefully excepted…
So, till the next time…and, as I only visit for weddings and funerals, I hope that next time it’s for a wedding…
STOP PRESS
This morning Southampton city centre was cordoned off after a car was found with something suspicious inside. After a thorough search,it was found to be a tax disc.Regards Charlie

Evening Fergie. Thanks for last Sunday, it was a pleasure to meet you. As ever, the old photos of Armstrongs get the nostalgia juices flowing. Keep your eyes peeled next week - got a few going out to deliver Moreac. Still awaiting approval for the Le Havre JBO from the Elders Comittee. Spoke to Phil Garrett the other week if that name rings a bell. He used to work for P&O in portsmouth, was probably a desk clerk / office junior in those days. He now is the freight manager for Norfolkline Ferries. Last time I saw him was just after last August’s gathering and I told him who was there, he remembered everyone! If you come up solo to Le Havre, will make sure there is a trailer there for you to go home with. Take care, Horry.

Hi Horry…
Don’t remember a Phill Garrett…the lad in the office at Totton was Bob Garnett. who latter started up his own business,
(Garnett trans-Garnett International, something like that ? ) out of Portsmouth, he was a decent bloke. The other lad at Totton was Ray McCord, who went on to be high-up in the Norbert Dentressangle group in the UK…all along time ago…maybe someone knows where they both are now…
Bob Garnett used to be a manager at Euro PSL in Pompey port, then set up Garnett Eurotans,i used to pull his trailers, like you said a genuine and decent bloke, his Dad was a Customs man in Southampton.
Bob had a beard, and did Spain and Portugal,i was pulling for PSL and Freight Transfer,a lot of JCB`s for Motivo in Porto and Lisbon, rates were not too bad.
I did hear that he was ill a few years ago,and have lost contact with him,i wonder how he is,and what he is doing?
