got chatting to someone who related both these trucks back to the Clapcottt Bros. UYP897 was apparently once owned and run by Clapcotts. JET855 was rebuilt and Seymore Clapcott assisted with information from his wealth of AEC knowledge.

He was at the time driving the F88.
Really sad news of John Lee’s demise Tony. Although I haven’t seen John for a few years like a lot of people from the past he is never far from your thoughts if you had known him. There is always a corner of your mind for chaps like him and some memory or other of an occasion or incident which involved him. A great loss to us all John R.I.P.
Hi Old school routier…as you say, those that knew John will always remember him.
The last time I saw him was by chance in Pats yard a few years ago.
Perhaps they can still do a bit of wheeler dealing in that highway in the sky.
May they both RIP as well as too many others in recent years.

Tone you were not to know, I am just glad now I never posted anything. Know John well from when he worked for Skillbeech often broke bread together when we used to tip them loads in Savona going to Libya, then race over to Bergamo for the old washing machines at Philco, cheers Buzzer.

Hi all, blimey Johnnie Lee is looking good Marriners ! Last time I saw John was when he lent me a portapress to pump out the rear of an old Taxi I was driving it was a Mk 4 Cortina that’s how long ago that was ! About 1986 and he looks younger now than he did then !! Good to see you lookin well John !!
