Hi all Tony we could go down to Milan and have a look for ourselves I go to hospital tomorrow for open on my finger and will be of work for either 2 or 4 weeks so we would have time and could take charles with us he could do the driving we could make the sandwiches and navigate.
Gerbil…hi Kev, what a brilliant idea…bad timing though mate, I,ve just had 5 weeks off work
and I,m hopefully going back next week, but could be the week after yet, my legs still swollen at
the moment.
I,m sure Charlie would be up for the driving, he,s just done a continental jaunt.
Dunno about me navigating though Kev, I,d be lost over there now.
Had a very pleasant breakfast this morning with Jimski and Paul Nichols ( the bionic man ).
Poor blokes got wires sticking out of him that are attached to his spine and a battery pack strapped
round his chest.
Still good company though and as usual we did a few miles.
Hi Tony was good to see you both thanks for the coffee Paul ! Hope you two old timers got home ok, how many time’s did you have to jump start Paul
Had a discussion with the Mrs today about our little road trip, like I said Tony I was gonna book the ferry today but one thing lead to another and it didn’t get done AGAIN ! as I had to go back to London, but as I got most of the day off tomorrow I will do it tomorrow ! But both agreed 2nd Sept

not nice to see old motors like this but I suppose it’s better than seeing them as a square of crushed metal.
Colin
Nice photos Richard and Colin.
Here,s my contribution, well Richard Greens actually of a Swains Merc.
Not exactly a Soton company, but it was driven by a Soton driver.

You take care in Paris that week as there will be some lycra clad fat boys (well Me & a couple of others + some thin people) pedalling around the peripherique, well not really but over Porte de Maillot on route to the Tour de Eiffel via L’Arc de Trimophe,
aaahhhh I can feel the cobbles already
Jeremy
Hi nilocekyd, re the scammel grave yard, I wonder iff dispatcher could help? I wonder iff it was AUU…? it isn’t a 6 wheel drive, AUU…, wasn’t? but it had the ballast box removed and made into a artic,

Hi chaps,
something I intended to do a long time ago for Pat, and just never got round to it, which I feel bad about. I took these pictures at Fleet services, a long time ago,but can’t remember the exact year. As Winchester services wasn’t thought of back then, and Rownhams was the only other choice, many of the trucks stopping here were Southampton bound. Maybe someone will spot a local wagon or two? Apologies for the quality, I was using my mum’s camera which was leaking light in!
Nick.
