Long Departed Southampton Hauliers (Part 1)

I’ve solved the seating arrangements: Plus there is room for a paying load! Plus Plus, I bet it will be comfortable too on those rough roads!

Great pics there Nick !! have a good trip the weekend mate !!

R Jimmer

thanks Jim.

Dieselcowboy…hi Nick, I have to agree with Jimmer, great pics mate.
Always good to see motors from that period.
Thanks to Robert also for contributing to this thread.

Gazzer…you,ve lost me mate.■■?

I thought you were going on a pan-european tour Tone? You could get 4 in that 2CV at a push. Lower the transport cost but increase the vino fund!

This is what I use for my daily service to Italy, can’t get much in the back, due to the Ferrari V12 taking up most of the room :unamused:

Tone & Charlie it’s pretty quick up Mont Cenis !!

Regards
Richard

Gazzer and Richard…mmmm difficult to decide really, do we go for the power
or the sleeper version.
I,ll have to confer with Charlie and Mick on this, so much to take into consideration.
Journey times, payload and MPG or should I say KPL.
I reckon either one would be an improvement on that old blue three wheeler I used to have.

Tone, I think the sleeper version may be better? obviously it looks a ploder, less likely to draw attention to our selfs?

The Ferraie… well dare I say good for a "fiddley n/out? pluss touch on tight side with 3 up?? mick.

Jimski:
Hi Tony was good to see you both thanks for the coffee Paul ! Hope you two old timers got home ok, how many time’s did you have to jump start Paul
Had a discussion with the Mrs today about our little road trip, like I said Tony I was gonna book the ferry today but one thing lead to another and it didn’t get done AGAIN ! as I had to go back to London, but as I got most of the day off tomorrow I will do it tomorrow ! But both agreed 2nd Sept

Regards Jimmer

Jimmer you should get hold of Horry, he may get you a discount on the ferry. If Sealink were still in Soton you would go free, they wuz good to us and every Christmas we did a beer run with the pickup FOC of course, plus we used to see those lovely girls in Cherbourg office, Buzzer.

Tone
I thought a old veteran like you would show me the way

No problem Rich…in the old days that would have been do able in 3/4 days.
Today though, I reckon I,d need a whole week to do it…maybe longer. :unamused: :unamused:

Any super dooper luxus macchina from the Cassino area HAS to be nicked! It’s the only reason to change it from red to blue!
