Richard for old times sake.If the Rossi Bros ask after me tell them it wasn`t me.I only stood and watched.Regards Charlie

Hi,

Tony the chap you are trying to revive :unamused: is a Southampton driver, still driving today !

Charlie the Rossi Bros are breaking their journey at Four Marks for some reason :unamused:

Here’s a White, I think Pat knows the guy who owned it Ron from Basingstoke, seen here tipping in Trieste Italy.

Richard

Hi Richard if it’s the man I am thinking of he came from Whitchurch his name was Cardin I think he had a DAF 2800 before the White and subbed for Sea Route Ferry. I also think he wrecked his first White on the Cerdon apparently he had asked the dealer to supply a White with an exhaust brake but they said he would not need one! They supplied the second White with a Jake Brake,

Regards Pat

If I remember correctly his name is Cardin Wyndham. The last tme I saw him was at Andover. He was running a tyre company. Can`t remember the name.It was thirty years ago.Regards Charlie

MaggieD…Richard, I think I,ve just twigged when those photos were taken, and by the
way I didn,t even know they existed.
I reckon it was while I was driving for you, and had been led astray by two of your other drivers
in Italy although I obviously wasn’t as bad as …his nickname began with C.
Now if I,m right the photos could only have been taken by…R.
Cracking night I remember, and 3 sore heads in the morning.

PS…if I recall correctly, me and R had to physically lift C into his cab in a fit of giggles.
'twas a tough life aye. :unamused: :unamused:

Shocking pic ! I would kindly like it removed :open_mouth:
My good old mate Jason done a few miles with him and some serious laugh me and my shadow as I remember !
Shame his health ain’t to good boss :frowning: :frowning:

Hi Pat,

I know who you mean Cardin Garrett lived in Whitchurch, and Charlie’s right he had a tyre business in Andover and then went to work at Micheldever Tyres in Mitchledever (Dodgy area for white Scania/Bulkers)
The White in the pic belonged to Ronnie Ryles(spelling) lived North Waltham way had that and a Volvo I think.

Tone, You are spot on I’ll get the 50 lira to you :unamused: :unamused: without boring everyone to death, ( as it’s such a filthy day I’ve been up in the loft and found a load of pics) here is another one with him handing you the last of his running money, and one of Chippy at one of our Christmas parties with his lovely wife Lynne.

Charlie It’s ok to come out on your scooter now

Regards
Richard

Ronnie Ryalls came from Farleigh Wallop (no I’d never heard of it either). He did indeed have an F12, new, bought from Rydales of Chingford I think. As he had no credit account with any VOLVO dealer he was a “Charge, pending warranty claim” type of customer…know what I mean?

Hi, anyone remember my parents, Tony Gatrell and Lesley Gatrell.

Gatt66

I most certainly do…Knew them both at Hythe, and Tony, who I got on very well with, after his divorce, when he lived near Ashurst. Borrowed an XT500 off him for a bit…Two sons, one played in a band, and the other in the Royal House Guards…One of his drivers, young guy, Barry, was murdered in Hythe, if I remember correctly…

Give me a PM, and I’ll give you my contact details, I’d be nice to chat with your Dad again after so long…

If anyone wants to reform this Bus…we could use it as a collection and delivery vehicle for the August Bash. Anyone know what it is?
It’s parked at a house in the riverbed, not destined to go any further.

Hi Richard

Yes I did meet Ronnie a long time ago I think Bob Cartwright bought his old LHD Scania 110 sleeper from Prince’s where he must have traded it in, also didn’t he have a couple of trucks on for TAE (Trans Alpine Express)? Last I heard was that he was not very well, is he still around does anyone know?
