Hi Nilocekyd, the woodman arms was one of my locals when I lived in upham, also the alma, and the brushmakers arms!! that was in the early to mid 60,s, I mated a driver for Bakers that lived in a caravan just down the rd from the alma, that’s going back 50 pluss year??when did you live at upham?? also some one mentiond the Old House at Home, Reg the land lord? would that be reg that had a hard tie as prisnor of war?? I use to go in there when I was a small lad, (with parents !!) I remember he had swing boats in the garden??
cheers, trunker 08
sorry trunker08 missed this from you, this thread runs on at a pace sometimes.
I didn’t actually live there, although I visited many times, it was my grandparents and their children, including my father.
They lived there from the 30’s right up until the end of the 60’s.
here’s another one parked there, I’ll have to ask Dad whether they actually did any work!!!
Colin

JD… was going to tell my Jamesons story, ( be patient Charlie… ) but remembered something else…was reminded by your London Mark post…about ■■■ related things…If you recall, in the 90’s I took a break from driving and was dealing in antiques? I seem to remember I sold you a long case clock… Hope it’s still ticking…If not, bad luck the warranty’s expired…
I had four years in that game and could really write a book about it! Anyway…I got a call one day to go and look at some stuff in a house just up the road from your old place in Bridge Road… across from you and up a bit after the bungalow…An old dear in her 60’s answered the door and said she was moving to a retirement flat. House was sold and would I take the contents? …We did a deal and I went the next day to pick up the furniture etc…
In the process, I took off the cornice of an old wardrobe, and there was an old leather suitcase…![]()
The unwritten rule of house clearance is that any " plunder " is taken out to the van asap… This I did…
Later that day I looked in the suitcase, it was chocfull of old black and white ■■■■ pics…

It was quite obvious that the womam in the pics with a variety of blokes was my client… and also that she was performing on the Chaise Longue and other items I hoped to make a profit on…
I went back next day to finish off and couldn’t look her in the eye. For a while after, I was trying to identify local blokes that were in the photos… I think one was the local butcher in Park |Gate… but you cant go in with an old pic and say "is this you in the 50’s mate■■?..Happy Days…

Stuart,
As Tony Mapsons Lawyer I wish to say that those photographs should not be allowed into the public domain, until I get a restraining order from the courts on Tuesday morning,I would also add my client kept his shorts on at all times
I rest my case (not the one with the pics in it)
Regards
Sue Grabbit & Run
p.s. If they appear on E Bay I’m sure a fair price will be obtained

Sir Richard QC… A nice try , however , given your clients past record and the fact that denim fibres and a size 10 sandal were found at the scene, a simple " Guilty " plea would best serve your client…
Firstly Sir Richard QC as Monsewer Baldrick surjests best you stick to the van’s as the evidence against your client Mapson is surely over whelming, stick to what you know mate.
On another note todays letter is “N” for Nissan now this should be easy for you snappers, cheers Buzzer.
Here you are John
Regards Pat
Charlie 1 … i better write this before i forget…
And before I do that…Gazzer, Ainacs , Pat… and the rest… Not sure I remember you all … you was a bit before my time…
Sooo, . in the 80’s… not sure when…( 85/86)…Another time I fancied being off the road…
I set up a little company doing carpet cleaning and car valeting… … thought i’d make a fortune, aah well , so…had a lot of laughs though…
At the time I got a call from an ad I had in yellow pages… Spoke to the lady…She’d had a fire in the kitchen, would I quote?? … Bien sur…see you at 9 in the Morning…
