Thought for 2013.
WHY WORRY?

There are only two things to worry about.Either you are well or you are sick.

If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about.

But if you are sick, there are two things to worry about.

Either you will get well or you will die.

If you get well, there is nothing to worry about.
If you die there are only two things to worry about.

Either you will go to Heaven or Hell.

If you go to Heaven, there is nothing to worry about.

But if you go to Hell. You`ll be so ■■■■ busy shaking hands with your old friends,

You won`t have time to worry.

Happy New Year to you Regards Charlie.

Thanks mate, that must be AUU… with ballast box taken off? ex whimpy motor came with, i think a 60 ton draw bar low loader, travelled a few mile in that!! and ETN…,
Wide load!!! must of been very local!!! things we use to do??

Hi Pat the pic with the Foden and the yacht, I seem to remember Monty telling me about the yacht, Im sure he said it was made of concrete !!! yeah and it ain’t even April 1st   oh well what ever floats your boat !!

Hi Jim they do make concrete yachts i know this as one of my first jobs when i worked for Richard Benney out of cornwall was to pic k up 14 tons of bagged mix for a concrete yacht in cornwall. They make a frame of small guage chicken wire and apply the mix to that and smooth it out,and they do float all to do with water displacement which i dont under stand, cheers Buzzer.

AUU…Monty drove it for a while, he would have only been in his early twenties at the time. I can remember it, ( and it looked better ) when it had the ballast box on and Jimmy Purkess drove it…ETN always looked a bit odd with it’s off-set, which was originally designed, I think, for working in the Gulf doing pipe line work. The next time Chris ( Hill ) drops in, he’ll be able to confirm/ deny it… Nice to see the old photo’s Pat, thanks for putting them on.

I was having a Christmas Eve drink with my dad and family and spotted this photgraph on the wall!

I have driven passed by it in a lorry more times than I care to remember!

Anyone remember this Pub it’s been shut down for a long time now although the building is still there?

Fergie 47, 358 ETN Started life as a reich drill rig
874 AUU Originally owned by Marples Ridgeway on the Chiswick Flyover contract
142BUT Was a Foden 2 stroke, Yacht was concrete, note HGV L plate on grill

All the best to everyone and a Happy New Year

No sorry Mike it is not the Coopers Arms that, is still a pub renamed “The Joshua Tree” I believe!

Regards Pat

Is that Endle street Pat, near Bakers yard ?..for the life of me, I can’t remember the name, although I’ve been in it a few times…

To the best of my knowledge, ETN came from noth east of england, burnt out?? Hills made it in to heavey tractor, the cab was off set to allow the pileing derrick to lay along side, i mated Titch Notley, then Barry Jhonson, then finaly George Holbrooks, all with the “big” tr.
