My ex Marathon now owned by Jan Lewiszong of Bergharen.
Ah-ha! It does you credit, Rene. Is it the same as the one pictured in your workshop behind the Eyckmanns ERF, as shown in my latest book? Cheers, Robert.

It is Robert, and I used the yellow cab of the Marathon I bought off Steve Greenwood.

Mention was made of the Middle East but not of Israel - we did get those as precursors to the T45 but only a few. After Leyland’s shenanigans in Israel during the late 60s-early 70s and an absence of some 4 years from the market operators were suspicious, but those and the Bathgate types kept the name alive. The T45s and the Scammell S26s were just starting to gain some acceptance in the late 80s but then DAF put the lid on it all and that was that…
I have some pics on another computer which I’ll try and upload later.

It would be interesting to see them as I was not aware that any Marathons were operated in Israel (though I have absolutely no reason to doubt it!). Robert
There you go Sir… First two pics (from the Israel Dun archives on Harvard U Israel collection) show one of the first to arrive being shown at some fair. The next two are of a lwb at work in the Galilee (pics via D. Kredo), last one is of a 4X2 tractor languishing somewhere (pic: Moshe Arzooan).
