Taken 87/88 with the late George Lee

Hiya …which is george lee?? is that the lee that run a fleet of blue lorries with red chassis in the early 80’s.
if so i used to run on the scrap job with one of his scammells from stoke to sheffield with girder off cuts.

George is in the middle, yes they would be the ones, my late father drove for the from the 50s to the 70s and i 80s early 90s

Heres a leyland my father was involved in a smash on the A45 madingley 1975 he was driving uphill with 20tons of spuds for Darlow transport Sandy bedfordshire, an artic came down the hil;l out of controll, the driver was sadly killed,this pic is of the rescue team cutting my dad free from his wagon

Hi kevin I had a lift with Gordon when I worked at Len greens,he picked me & Pete kitchen (from Swinton)at the lunchbox he had a scammel handyman at the time& it wasn’t very old,dropped us both on the doorstep,he was a nice bloke,any pics of him regards alan

It would be 68-69 kev when worked at Len green he left greens & started at bartol plastics edlington him & Dave parkin can be found round Donny on market day, Dave is on here( divads)Pete kitchens Dennis maxim,before that he had a erf Sabrina artic cut down from a ridgid

No kev Pete kitchen went to bartol,your dad was at lees when I was at greens,ye that looks like the Gordon we had a lift with

i remember him telling me when he was at greens they had a wagon with a white steering wheel would that have been an atki?

this erf had a white steering wheel,it was customery for erf to fit them to show motors,greens only had one atki,but no pics of it,here it is when I took it out with updated livery about 8 years later–alan

I have gathered up a small collection of Leyland’s for your pleasure

I took this one in 1988 in Lees old yard, the albion is now fully restored
