Steve’s final lorry at Wesmore’s was the Leyland J950 Gunner.Wesmore’s only had two artic’s,this is my first one, before it tipped over on site at Coventry
Wesmore’s artics are new to me too!!! Thought C247 DAG was H&B Transport of Sharnford? Remember J950 and saw it a bit running plain without the signwriting. Only other Wesmores I have noted are F267 NAY & F583 RBC, both Fodens
Mr.West bought the F.10 artic off of H&B Transport. You may have seen this Leyland running around before it was signwritten?

i have a photo of what i think is F267 NAY,still in Redland colours, also 1 of Wesmore’s Sed-Atki 8 wheeler C501 TNR.i know Mr.West has some photo’s of even older trucks they used to run.
Remember that F10 when it was HB transports, great piccs.
Didn’t Wesmores have an old LV ERF parked in the top of their yard for all to see, think it was green.

can’t recall Wesmore’s running any ERF’s Gunner, although at one time they bought a couple of trucks to rob them of their ■■■■■■■ engines,so could well have been an old unit parked up.talking of ERF’s,does anyone remember C.Handley from Enderby? green with red chassis i think.their old 8-wheeler still survives, but in bits, although there has been an offer on it,for scrap i think.it’s the model with the oval grill,KV?
I remember Chas Handley. Ran an old R reg (1976) ERF artic, green one up until about 10yrs ago. Think his lad, the blonde one drove it. His yard is still there behind the houses on Blaby road. He used to share it with Gills transport, who used to do north africa. A couple of Nobby dressing tables park in there now.
His lad Stu Handley ran about 7 scannys in the early 90s 3 on tipping and the other 4 on swiss, which i got lumbered into doing a couple of swisses in the early 90s as they all used to drink in the plough on fridays after work. Good old days… Squires logistics park in Stu’s old yard now, and 2 of stu’s old drivers, Bob & Nige Tranter drive for Squires…
i know Stu Handley, didn’t he start off with an F88? seem to remember he had Magirus Deutz’s as well, though could be mistaken.blue cabs i think.
Yes he did have an F88, can’t remember the Maggy’s but you may be right.

don’t know if they’ve been mentioned yet,but anyone remember Midland Storage at Stoney Stanton?my dad used to drive an Atki.8 wheeler tipper for them, must have been in the late '60’s.me and my sister used to go for rides all over the place with him, then a swift-half over at the club, before home.sadly, got no pic’s,but can still remember the smoke in the yard when the old Gardner’s fired up,and the deafning(to us kids!)racket from the engine.

Like the Wesmore tippers. Here’s a few I bought from a show a few year back.
