They changed h law on it … ask matey boy in the shop their really good and up on what you can and can’t do because they want you to come again …
Look at this side i posted it there Calais to Belgium - EURO DRIVING FORUM (INTERACTIVE) - Trucknet UK
The legal limit for bringing bacci in is now 1kg. Law changed in 2012.
Is it a new law, or is it just the british customs just making their own rules up as they go along ? I was under the impression that if it was for you own use you could fetch back as much as you liked, EU directive?
As far as I am aware any figures are guidelines only. You are aloud to bring any amount back as long as it is for personal use.
Got stopped by customs last year with 2 kilos pf bacci, He said that if you are a frequent traveller ie: trucker the legal limit is 1 kilo of bacci,

It’s a made up guideline by UKBA. There is no limit for personnal use.
They are a law unto themselves.

True, it’s a made up guideline. There’s no limit if its for personal use, or a gift. 1 kilo isn’t a legal limit.
But who can smoke 10 kilos of tobacco a week, or even a fortnight?
They are authorised to make that judgement and decide to confiscate, or fine, or both, or neither.
Ive been stopped in dover with 5 packs, when searched the lorry they asked about baccy and I told there was 5 packs in the top locker.
he asked if I was hiding them?? I said its just good house keeping to the truck tidy.
He let me keep them but did say other customs officers would have taken them off me.
What’s a safe number to bring back then. Would I be fine bringing back 2kg. I smoke 1kg a week .
I was watching Border agency uk on tv and it seems if a person has brought a lot in then it goes on the answers they give to customs
Saying you are going to get your sons etc to pay for some of it will get them interested
A couple that smoke 40+ a day each could reasonably bring in for personal use an amount to cover them both for a year = about 15,000 ■■■■ (75 packs of 200) if my maths is ok - dunno what equates to in loose tobacco …
what many get caught out on is ■■■■ from Europe where the country is not in the EEC/EU

I’d bring about 40 pouches (4 packs/2.0kg). If they take it (which is unlikely), it’s no big loss.
Just do this every week until you get pulled. At this point they will probably give you a warning. If this happens, Then just stick to 1kg on your next trips. They’ll definatley take any more than that if you’ve already had a warning.
Ye I won’t push my luck when I go over double manned most people bring back 3 I’m just gonna stick to 2 .

No it isn’t, not when we’re talking about truck drivers bringing in their low tax, personal tobacco supplies.
Which we are here.
What many get caught on is greed and a bad attitude, simple as that.
What persons may say on that BAUK programme is probably not the unalloyed truth.
Would you freely admit to knowingly committing a criminal act, while being recorded by a tv camera?
Why are the rules for truckers different from those who bring back ■■■■ from holiday ?

Because truck drivers are classed as frequent ‘fliers’ and therefore don’t need to bring as much in, to tide them over till their next trip.
If you’d bothered to read the thread before jumping in with your conclusions, you’d have seem this point explained a few times already.
