Threshfield quarry was mothballed December 2001 with some redundancies during 2002/03 all the crushing /grading plant was removed. When planning was granted to extract a further 24 million tonnes from Swinden quarry in 2008 this was the last nail in the coffin for the Threshfield quarry having walked into the upper quarry recently there are millions of tonnes still left up there to be quarriedCheers Quarryman, I was talking to a workmate who also worked for Clogger and he said he got one of the last loads out of Kilnsey before it closed.
You are obviously from the Grassington side of the hill, I’m from Pateley I would think paths have crossed at some stage.

Few from my collection, some 21 YEARS AGO!!! How time flies

PS Someone several months ago put up the photographs of the Ergomatic 8 wheeler on its way down ‘on its SIDE’ think it was ‘Rum do at Kilnsey’?

Was thinking that myself Dan! Dropping down into Slinter was bad enough. Never heard of Kilsney before and I have Holidayed in that area many times over the years, know of Threshfield and I have been to Swinden and the dreadful Skipton Rock of course but this is a fresh one on me.
Pete.
