Sorry Maddog I don’t have a picture of S25EAS. It had a sister which was S55EAS, both in the new dark blue livery. 3 Renaults followed, and then some Merc Actros, but they all had normal reg numbers. I recently saw L40SLT on the M2 still working hard for them. When I get chance I’ll put some more pictures on.

Here are some more SEAS Pictures, taken in 2002. The Volvos had only recently been delivered.Tyreman,
Sorry for picking this up a little bit late, have you got a picture of a SEAS unit reg no S25 EAS. I’m interested as I spent 3 yrs driving it for Humphrey Hulme at Wingham, doing mainly bulk work and some farm flat work carting fruit into store. They still have it now, it does odd work now and again. Those SEAS motors and their livery is quite distinctive, I was interested to see S15 EAS that you posted as I never saw any others that looked like the one I drove. I was fond of that unit, I have some pic just need to work out how to post them from an iPad(any ideas apprieciated).
thanks
Tim.
Hi all, Not sure why it’s taken me so long to put these pic’s on of my late father Fred Davis’ early driving career,Paul.

These are the Birdale company someone said they had never heard of, Mark R I think, anyway they were at the bottom of Bluebell hill with the junction of the M20 these pic’s are courtesy of Ashley Coghill and Eric Birdale.
Birdale was featured in a Mercedes newspaper given away at the 76 Motor Show. I hadn’t come across the Company before. They were an early user of the New Generation cabs. Here’s the article
Ive just been reading the new Ford Transcontinental book by Pat Dyer, theres quite a big piece about Birdale in it as they ran the Fords as well as Mercs. Theres also a bit about Ken Trowell, another Kent haulier who you may or may not remember.
Postman Paul, very interesting pictures of the Bullens F88’s. You may know this, but a local company to me when I was in Yorkshire…Hewson Brothers of Howden … were also acquired by Bullens, same red and white livery ,as per your Dads truck, was introduced there too.Are they sleeper cabs or day cabs and is the blue and white F88 in Channelflow livery ?
Brilliant pictures of the Merc’s, i remember as a kid my Dad getting a new 1626, OKP 699R whilst working for E.J.Transport of New Romney, what a lovely motor, dont suppose anyone has got any pictures, the old man is just about to give his license up after 47 years on the road, my hero.
