Thanks for replies.I remember meeting him a couple of times on nights out in the early nineties.Really nice chap.Sad he has lost his licence.
Somebody mentioned Charles Patterson in an earlier post - Geordie with a gammy leg?. Didnt know he used to be on for JWQ (if its the same bloke)
Used to work with him when i was driving for SW tpt Swindon - hes still on for them, running out of their Telford depot

the name rings a bell but i think it was after i left ,and shaw i saw ian logan about 7 yrs ago he was on for malcholms out of a depot near nottingham , steve those 2 numbers you gave no good he either didnt want to talk or they were wrong numbers
WELL HELLO everyone and how are you all? Mr Paul Watson and I had a great weekend together up there in sunny ‘Brid’ - we certainly did a few miles in the comfort of Pauls living room- 'twas great to catch up. Sadly our parents have got their revenge- we’ve turned into them!? SUEDEHEAD, Chas was indeed the Geordie with a dodgy leg and it makes sense he was working for SW in Telford- he could be close to the S.V.R. LESLIE G HEATH yes indeed you’re quite correct about Bill Mckinnon.BRONZEBONIO/SHAW REF Martin Willis I saw must be 3 years ago now in a b&q and at that time he’d lost his license-maybe things changed and he got it back- I’d hope so anyway.Any road up I’ve managed to find some more pics and I will put them on in due course. Take care chaps - Terry.
Blimey, Ian Logan. I remember having a night out with him in Airdrie, memorable! Chas Patterson lives in Swindon but travels to the Midlands on Sunday nights, back on the Friday, don’t think he has any connections with the SVR any more.
Its taken a while, but here is another of my JWQ photos. Ive also found a photo of A456 WRX which i will put up later when ive got time. Hope you like this one.
Rgd Mark.

Crikey - i’ve had the cylinder heads off that a few times NLB = Never Leaves Berkshire
Thanks

Glad you like the photo Steve, shes starting to look a bit rough round the edges by the time this shot was taken. I presume this was a Reading motor?, i was hoping somone might have a photo of one of the Sheerness Merc 1626s as i remember when they came home, my dad was a subbie at the time, and i used to go down the yard to meet him somtimes after school. Can it really be nearly 30 years ago!!!

When we looked after them NLB 5V was at Reading and i think NLB 4V was at Swindon.
I think Shaw Ballard had NLB 5V - but i’ll stand corrected on that

HELLO AGAIN Everybody I hope you’re all well. Just a brief bit of text this time- I’ve managed to find a pic of the last days of Jwq. This is more or less the final fleet and a pic of my Merc 17-35. To be honest I wasn’t a huge fan of these lorries, I didn’t like that “E.P.S.” gearbox (remember the short stubby gear lever which really was a series of buttons to change the gears??) and after the old Daf the cab was quite small, but it really pulled well, I only ever dropped half a cog on any motorway grossing 38 tons, as it was then. My dear wife and youngest son were forced to be in the picture so sorry to them! Hope you enjoy-and lets keep the memories rolling in ! - Terry.
HI THERE Everyone, the latest thing I’ve tried is to upload some videos to the site- The subject matter is or course JWQ lorries and drivers and this footage was taken on my wedding day , June 1990- the quality isn’t fantastic (no h-d then!) but a great time capsule nontheless!! STOP PRESS STOP PRESS ! Sadly they can’t be downloaded to this site BUT all you have to do to see them is log on to www.youtube.com and type in the search JWQ WEDDING LORRIES, I’ve downloaded 5 90 SECOND CLIPS , in sequence of the journey from the church to the reception at Courage brewery. My wedding, as far as The Reading depot was concerned was the last big Jwq “do” ever, sad to say.So there you are chaps, if of any interest to you please log on to youtube.com, Terry.
just seen the video, were did you get the hat ?, and dont tell me ■■■■■ drove , and you hid the straps well or were the chairs bolted down
heres that picture i was telling you about terry .just been home to get passport then of to european freightbus in birmingham , loaded the hertz car rental shop for the hilton hotel in basle

in answer to your question terry it was about 2 months old did it still have the catwalk turned over when you had it very handy for the chains
Sadly some herbert nicked the catwalk and i had to just balance on top of the chassis arms!
Happy New Year to all the old Q’s gang, let’s hope the snow don’t bugger us up again. Hope everybody is ok and didn’t overdo it last week. Save it for tomorrow night!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE GANG, and terry and dom happy christmas your card is waiting for when i come down in new year, some herbert has hijacked my email account and i have phone troubles so i dont know your address
Paul I’ve found out fjf is quite ill in hospital - 50/50 if he makes it back out If i can find out more i’ll let you know
Cheers
Steve
