Hello. Wonder which depot that this used to operate from I photographed it in F.C.Concrete’s yard on Alfreton Rd.Derby on
3/9/91.It was obviously the shunter but if it was still Hoyle’s, F.C.s or another haulier, dont no.Nearest J.Hoyle depot at that time
I think would have been Ambergate but Im sure someone will know.Just wonder if it survived ? Mike.

POG was based at York St, Audeshaw it was the old fellas first sleeper cab after years of sleeping over the bonnet, a Riddings (Preston) converted sleeper.I ll see if Ive got any roadgoin pics

[This is me at about age 16 in POG doing a bit of shunting

One of those parked regularly in the wagon park bottom of Fairfield road late 70s Sepo.

I know this as I used to climb all over it!

Cheers Sepo.In her smart looking days.Regards Mike.

I actually applied for a job at Hoyles Darley Dale depot back in the early '80’s but I didn’t get it as I hadn’t a class 1 license. One of my neighbours Gordon Oliver drove for them for a number of years and seemed to do all right there.

Pete.

Ay up Kel Happy New Year… My owd man use to park down there when we first moved up here but that would be the early eightys… It was great climbin over trucks but not to good when you got a clip off y Mum for havin grease all over y clothes ;;;; Sepo

Bet it was the same lorry mate. I used to climb over anything that parked there at the time; Jasper Goodwin’s Routemans, a Sed ak of G-R-Stein that parked there every so often, even a barber green when they were resurfacing High Path!

On another note, did ya dad continue driving for Hoyles into the late 80s? There was a lad that drove for them that parked on Tongue Lane industrial estate and he had a S108 artic. he used to give me a lift to Dove when he saw me stood top of fairfield road.

Yeh he did park on tongue lane a bit… so was prob him 10.4

Some more Hoyles pics

Heres his F10 parked ready for you to climb on Bonk, parked at the bottom of Fairfield Rd. One of Hoyles first in the new colours

Good photos Dave. Don’t recall the F10, never really took much notice of foreign artics at the time. What year is that one from?

I’m sure the Foden he used to give me a lift in was a X or Y reg. with a single piece windscreen and a sleeper bunk. Might be wrong though as it’s a long time back!
