John Raymond Transport

JRT are looking for drivers in Swindon.
Does anyone know anything about them?
I never knew that they had a depot in Swindon.
Any info would be appreciated.

they are based in volvo swindons yard, decent motors but they run you ragged,i know this because i had a lodger who worked for them,he was regularly doing 15 hour shifts about 3 times a week and 10 or 12 hour shifts the other 2 days and he was asked if on a friday night if he could tip on a saturday,so that was his weekend gone [or at least a good few hours of it ]and of course its tramping as he was away all week, from what he told me they never let up,once he tipped they sent him elsewhere once he tipped that again sent somewhere else for another load and he was asked to do one saturday every month,i myself am looking for a full time job away from the agency work but i would not work for j raymond tspt, hope this helps make your mind up,B&Q are looking for drivers through ADR in commercial rd swindon, brand new vehicles, easy work,i would do it myself but i am quite happy where i am as an agency driver,[B&Q is full time]so i am told

FFS, that ain’t on, what sort of boss makes you load & tip & load & tip when tramping and have to work one Saturday EVERY month, this is almost akin to slavery. FFS.

JB Global were looking for drivers in Swindon .Hard graft but the money is not bad .

If that’s what the boss wants and pays for why the gripe ? If it’s too hard for you to do move aside and let a real driver do it IMO

I was thinking the same! Shocking in this day and age that companies still want us to deliver stuff.

HaHa, yeah, at least my sarcasm wasn’t wasted on you, unlike Raymondo.

JRT don’t grind the serial numbers off their tyres though, Steve.

lol Nathan.
Whatever do you mean? :grimacing:

I don’t think you need hang around the yard for 2 hours after parking up for the night, talking ■■■■■■■■ and following the bosses about.

Are you getting all your loads done and still ringing in for permission to go home? :smiling_imp: Anyway, I saw you on the M40 at Stokenchurch on Thursday, you didn’t wave back you unsociable R.Sole. I’d been in the bunk asleep, my mate was driving back. :grimacing: :grimacing:

Yeah we still have to phone in like good boys.
I did see a clapped out DAF at Stokenchurch.
With the pace we go at now m8 everything is a blur :grimacing:

just basing it on what i was told by my ex lodger, personally i do not work weekends,as the way i see it if you work hard during the week you need saturday to wind down[a few pints] and sunday to relax, ready for the next week,if other drivers want to burn themselves out thats up to them,an employer does not really appreciate it

I’m sorry, what I said was wrong after reading your post again, I was wrong in saying he HAD to work one Saturday a month, he didn’t, they had the decency to ask him if he would. FFS.

@Truckman 20

Thanks for your response.
I don’t mind putting some hours in but if it’s tramping it just wouldn’t suit me at all.
I’d do a couple of nights away but her indoors needs to be kept happy as well.
Happy wife happy life
Thanks again.

Yeah, it should be enough just driving around with a liveried trailer, to advertise the company. Totally out of order expecting anything more, especially for less than a grand a week
