Good question Ravda, I remember the Volvo very well, & the bloke that drove it, It was Jimmy Aikenhead he worked for Adams a long time, I will make a few enquiries & see what I can find out, Regards Larry.

Well ravda, He did in fact change his surname by deed poll to Mason, I was told this by one of Adams drivers, Regards Larry.

Sorry no pics ravda, This driver if IRC, Was called Brad, he was a long serving driver for Adams, Allways had his pipe and just took the job in his stride, Regards Larry.

these are the names i remember, banshee-billy glendinning,micky rouse who had a scania 81 and an ex primula merc truck.billy davison,big john who drove a 4 wheeler leyland and had bleached false teeth,geordie thomas and old jakey who stood round the salamander heater,oh and john amos who towed me back from newark in a scammell routeman.there was another guy who was very quiet man had a leyland roadtrain who fixed my batteries at darrington services he died(god bless his soul) in some sort of accident cant remember his name? greener i think.

Aye big John (McKenna) Started for Adams as a young lad, Sadly he passed away not long after he retired RIP Big John, Regards Larry.
