Aye Larry they always seemed to be “an after thought” to me those 6x2’s,I recall that a number of Scania operators used the Granning third axle on 4x2 's when 38 ton came in,but I never fancied them my-self,I stuck with the “factory” built versions  Cheers Dennis.

Aye Dennis, Both 6X2s we had were factory built & both twin steers, I preferred the to the push axles, Regards Larry.

Funnily enough Larry the one 6x2 pusher FL10 we ran did just as well on tyres as the twin steer Scanias, bad to understand why but a fact never-the-less eh!Cheers Dennis.

Lawrence you are to be congratulated for your efforts posting the photographs , comments etc with reference to what must be one of the few real !!! hauliers out there . Since you are now retired and have plenty of time on your hands you could turn to publishing ! a book about if not only about Adams history and perhaps also many other well known N.E. hauliers , if you got a move on it could be a best seller for Christmas , again many thanks for you very interesting posts .[/quot Thanks Shugg but I cant take all the credit for all the photos, These latter ones were given to me by one of Adams Fitters, Richie who is a enthuist as well, Regards Larry.

Hi Larry what was thinking behind this colour scheme ■■?

Hi Tyneside, As far as I know these motors weren’t very old when Adams bought them so they didn’t get painted in their usual livery I don’t think there is too many of them in their fleet, The last four new DAFS are the Adams colours which Im sure you will agree when I say they look much better, Regards Larry.
