Is this long working day legal?

Javiatrix:
And one many people seem to forget… You must take a 30 minute break no later than 6 hours after signing on for work. This is a WTD requirement, not a drivers hours requirement.

Seriously guy, not this ■■■■ AGAIN!

A word of warning
There are some very knowledgeable people on here, many of who know exactly what they are talking about, however there are some who talk out of their backside, I have to go official here and say… Comments from members on here should be viewed as opinion, You should make your own judgement on any advice given, If your in serious doubt about your situation you should take advice from a body that is willing to stand by that in court and in person rather than people of the internet

In short : listen to anything members ‘tachograph’ and ‘coffeeholic’ have to say on driver hours regs as they read them all just for fun and know more about them than the authorities themselves. “Advice” from anyone else, take with a pinch of salt.

DAF95XF:
Anyway, has anybody mentioned split breaks yet

Yes I have.

kitbuilder123:
A letter of atestation is what he should have had. This is now needed to show periods where you can’t provide cards for, including after taking your summer holidays. And again it was a pretty rookie move to head for Spain without previous 28 days cards or this letter

So what do you do about that if you haven’t done any in scope driving or “work” for anybody for a year or more? i.e. Been at home every day as a house husband.

I don’t think I am doing too badly on these issues as I cannot remember being corrected by either of the above mentioned for any replies I have made in the past 3 years

PS - you forgot to mention geebee45

Yes, letter of attestation. When I was typing that post, I couldn’t for the life of me, remember what it was called.
I did Euro work upto 2001 & we always carried 1( signed) with us as soon as we’d returned from holidays etc.
My mate, who got done is an ex O/D from many years ago but had been on tankers for years. After taking redundancy, he thought he’d find work easily( driver shortage?) but found that wasn’t the case. He told me he’d used those letters in the past but as he’d been out of the continental game for so long, he’d forgotten about it.
Crap innit? Just trying to earn a crust & some ■■■■■■ is determined to take it off you?

You have a history of supplying incorrect information on these forums which I’m sure both Neil and ‘tachograph’ would be delighted to remind you about.

I have appreciated ROG’s advice with the regs on multiple occasions in the last few months. It’s always been spot on.

Thanks - some members tend to forget that people can learn and change a lot over time and prefer to dwell on things that happened many years ago

keep your fingers crossed that vosa dont pull u in the next few weeks

its not about work its about rest 9’s and 11’s

Coffeeholic:
By the way you can only do three 15hrs between weekly rest periods, the rest are 13hrs. You could do six 15hrs in a week. THIS IS NODDY STUFF.

Have you considered a driver’s hours course because this is really basic stuff to be getting wrong?

No you can’t do six 15hrs in a week every week. I’d love you to explain to me how you can do that when you can only have three reduced rests between weekly rest breaks.

But of course you knew what I was on about and decided to play Richard Cranium.

quite often use to do 4 or 5 x15 hrs a week when I was on containers. all you have to do is have 3 hrs break (I will add continuous) during the day and you can do 15’s every day, then the 9 hrs off are not counted as reduced!! easy!!! :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

What he said. Especially on containers where they take 3/4/5 hours to tip. 5 x 15 hour days without using a reduced rest :grimacing: :grimacing:

Depends on if its a “fixed” week or a “rolling” week (between weekly rests) :grimacing:

15 hrs Mon, Tues, Weds, 24 hrs off then 15 hrs Fri, Sat, Sun simples or 3 x 15 hrs with no split break and then 3 x 15 hrs with split break.
That’s 2 ways to do it in a fixed week and 1 way to do it in between weekly rest.

Have you done the dcpc ?

This is NODDY stuff as you previously put it.

We All know the day was to long

A bit like this ■■■■ thread!
