Is this long working day legal?

just print this lot off, by the time the magistrate stops laughing they will have forgot the charge… oh me ribs!

I would be ‘losing’ my digital card if I was you, £20 for a new one is peanuts compared to the amount it’s gonna cost you in lube when VOSA see it lol

How about the 12 months information that’s stored on the machine■■? VOSA would soon find out any discrepancies he had done when they put their card in.

A word of warning
There are some very knowledgeable people on here, many of who know exactly what they are talking about, however there are some who talk out of their backside, I have to go official here and say… Comments from members on here should be viewed as opinion, You should make your own judgement on any advice given, If your in serious doubt about your situation you should take advice from a body that is willing to stand by that in court and in person rather than people of the internet

In short : listen to anything members ‘tachograph’ and ‘coffeeholic’ have to say on driver hours regs as they read them all just for fun and know more about them than the authorities themselves. “Advice” from anyone else, take with a pinch of salt.

I don’t think I am doing too badly on these issues as I cannot remember being corrected by either of the above mentioned for any replies I have made in the past 3 years

PS - you forgot to mention geebee45

You have a history of supplying incorrect information on these forums which I’m sure both Neil and ‘tachograph’ would be delighted to remind you about.

I may not agree with ROG on everything, but I have and will trust his advice 100% with regards Tachograph Regs.

Tachograph has also been a big help when I first started out driving and was working on both Warehouse and driving, helping me keep legal.

If I ever need advice I ask for either of these members.

Oh yeah lmao, in that case catch a flight to the moon and live there for a while, or smash the ■■■■ out of the tachograph head so it needs a new one.

You have obviously, not sat through any of DCPC stuff have you.

i have 172 hrs rest but need more i live on benefits street

Don’t tar all new drivers with the same brush! If I don’t know, I find out, or ask, not carry on optimistically!
I printed out this: transportsfriend.org/hours/rest.html and referred to it until I (mainly) got it. People like ROG and tachograph are very helpful (and patient) over on the new drivers forum if you ask questions.

To be fair to the OP he has asked. Admittedly after the event and He probably regrets it now. IMO he has realised something is wrong and come here to get advice. I find it quite disappointing in
(a) The reaction he has received on here and
(b) In this modern age of DCPC and Employer liability, that someone can be sent out in a truck without this knowledge.
My guess is that he is working for an own account operator, on a restricted license, that seem to be able to slip under the VOSA radar.

I say disappointed but not surprised. I haven’t been on here for a while as I haven’t been doing much driving but am now on ‘General haulage’ again and am pleased to find that the assistance is still there if you want it, amongst those who know it all and are happy to sit in their glasshouses and watch those that don’t struggle.

Sign on 04.50am - Should have put the card in ASAP
Get keys to vehicle and insert card 05.40am - No harm at this stage but a manual entry should cover what you done from 04:50am
Remove card 22.50pm
Driving hours was 7h 17m
Other Work was 8h 1m

Total duty 17.5h - Asking for trouble, but ignore the hero’s on this site. I bet they have done it in the past to help a boss out

was a hell of a long day but was it legal?

I stand to be corrected though.
