Personally I think this is the start of a major shake up of domestic politics. Jokers like David Lammy have no place in a new political era. They will fight tooth and nail to hold on to their undemocratic seat on the gravy train. First past the post isn’t a democratic enough system, and hopefully the referendum has shown it up for the sham it is. Personally I think any europhile mp who’s constituency voted out, should give up their seats

If thats a call for some form of Proportional Representation, then Im with you there. First Past the Post gives rise to too many anomalies.
Would you go further with your resignation wishes? Since the Incumbent Government is a Europhile one shouldnt they vote "No Confidence" in themselves? Shouldnt a fresh new Government with a mandate have the right to open the exit negotiations?
Can`t see it happening, too many too frightened about losing their places.

Take no notice of desypete’s views mate, no [zb] else does.
I was an out voter, but I certainly do not share his narrow minded opinions on this subject.

Yep, all he does is give the majority a bad name!
No way would I be joining anything to try and push EU citizens out of Britain, and I’d be joining the opposition to that in a flash! :imp:

here we go again with the racist crap for my views
it didn’t work during the vote and it doesn’t work here as people are fed up with emigration as was proved with the vote to get out of the eu and people were even saying so on the news from all over the country that were feeling the pressures of the flood of people in there work places and home areas

the main issue at stake was emigration. taking control of our boarders has got all the bleeding hearts up in arms and they want the vote changed, because people like me love the result as we can start to take back our country again.
the only thing boris got right was to call the vote day our independence day
the blleding hearts for once can not or did not get there anti racist slurs to stick as the publc have seen that trick played out time and time again mostly towards nigel farage who stood up and got this vote for all us who wanted out
i am sure you want to thank our nige didnt he do well

It’s immigration that people are fed up with Pete.

Most people love to emigrate.

Tell you what Pete, with you so keen on saying goodbye to those EU citizens that are already over here, that have chosen to settle in this country to build a new life contributing to the economy. Why don’t we have a system where as long as both of your grandparents are British, you’re not persecuted?

I don’t think this sort of thing has been tried before, but I could be wrong!

What could possibly go wrong?

Yes I do believe the majority of government should resign. But we agree, the europhile arm will make it very difficult to slow down the train before getting off. A bit like turkeys queueing for the oven on Christmas Day.

As for the House of Commons, I believe there should be a maximum of 5 mp’s per county outside of the major cities. Central, north, south, east and west. With the current town mp’s becoming constituent reps, reporting to the local mp, much like the current ward councellors report to the mp at the moment. It’s not a good system when the entire split electorate of a town like mine, make up less than the labour voters of somewhere like Stoke Newington. We need a system that pools votes together to stop the feeling that votes don’t count in certain areas

We must have democracy for the people of this country - as long as it’s the democracy we agree with.

i love this quote ^^
how very true it seems to be for this argument.

you open up another can of worms
i take it you think its wrong for me to want to see English people in work who were born and bread here, it doesnt matter about there colour but if there born in this country shouldn’t they have a right to work and afford a home rented or mortage ?, should they not have the chances i had and many other who were young once and had jobs to earn enough to stand on our own 2 feet ?
you seem to want to put eu nationals ahead of our own people ?

we have to care for our own first like they do in aussie land the only way in to aussie land is if you have a skill they need and that no one else in there home area has that same skill etc they take care of there own people first and yet there not seen as racist for being that way. to them it seems perfectly normal and to me it seems right to

i am sure if there was high wages to be had in the eu and all us English drivers buggered off to make a life out there we would be welcome with open arms by the nationals and that they to wouldn’t want to shut there doors on us ?
even some polish over here wanted to be out of the eu as they were worried about the other country’s being let into the eu and that they knew they would head straight to our lands and it would be them facing lack of work over here as even cheaper imported labour would be taking over from them

Is this why Cameron resigned :astonished:

If they didn’t it would be because like most of us they didn’t actually believe that we would vote leave , but i doubt it,

Have you seen the petitions being shared on Facebook today? My personal favourites are a rerun of Friday’s euromillions as the author hadn’t won, and let’s replay the battle of Hastings

We have just had a vote to LEAVE the EU pal, not to expel EU nationals who now live here!!!

You seem to be missing this point, and you cannot compare the Australian situation/policy as they have not been in something and are now choosing to leave it. Yes I would like to see British people in jobs, etc… But to achieve that I’m not going to sign up to expelling or pushing out those that are already here. When we leave the EU, then we can talk about limits and controls on immigration and not before that, as IF we do start talking about that before, can you not see what will happen■■?

“Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” - Edmund Burke

If I may offer an opinion from the outside looking in.

The main beneficiaries of EU membership in England was the middle and upper classes. Its obviously reflected in the votes when you look at how different regions voted.
I lived in the UK for seven years and the class system you guys have is ridiculous. So many fee paying schools and such high university tuition fees keeping everyone in their place.
Of course the middle class wanted to stay in the EU. Most of their jobs are reliant on it and their Universities are reliant on EU funding. The financial sector is already talking about upping stakes and moving to Ireland to stay in the EU. The science and research based industries are probably eyeing up France and Ireland.
All middle class jobs.

Meanwhile the working class have been struggling for years being undercut in wages by new EU workers willing to work for minimum wage in jobs that were previously well paying ( such as truck drivers). But you can’t complain about that because its ‘racist’.
So what are you to do? You can’t upskill because you can’t afford it, you cant complain without being branded a racist and your kids can’t go to university because the cuts in your pay mean you can’t pay the tuition fees and the other training options available to them are inadequate or looked down on. They’re gonna be stuck in the same place as you only it gets worse for them. Hopefully brexit brings back well paying working class jobs.
Scotland voted to stay. No wonder, EU development funds for deprived and rural areas and cheap/free university tuition. They aren’t dealing with the wage cut rat race and watching their communities crumble around them.

The middle class are now moaning about their lot but if they had worked harder to share the wealth and benefits of EU membership they wouldn’t be in that situation.
The working class people of England had a chance to bite back. They might be cutting their nose off to spite their face but I cant see any other option.

It matters not a jot to the argument of you ■■■■■■■■ about the losing side still moaning.

It matters a lot bearing in mind the historic examples of where such a clash in ideology usually leads to.Feel free to regard the bar for Federation as the same for Nation and to look the gift horse of the out vote in this case in the mouth.

No, it doesnt. You can try to ■■■■■■■■ me all you want but NOTHING changes you saying you would never accept a remain verdict yet are having a go at inners for not accepting the leave. Your reasons for thinking you are different in being allowed to say you wont accept it if it goes one way while demanding everyone else does now its went the other are irrelevent. Just because you THINK your reasons are valid for what you consider the “right” result does not now give you the right to demand the inners keep quiet. You cant have it both ways pal

Carryfast:
While where you stand seems bleedin obvious.Like Dolph if you want to live in Juncker’s Communist utopia zb off and live there.

Not as obvious as you think. I voted leave. As ive said a few times now. Dont assume everyone is as blinkered to other peoples views and opinions as you. Its perfectly reasonable for an out voter like me to accept the in voters are not happy and will go on about it loudly for a long time to come

Carryfast:
If not then you do whatever it takes to save your nation.Which includes the ( justified ) double standard of refusing to accept the idea of anyone voting the country out of existence and giving it over to people like Juncker,or at least setting a high bar for them to do it.That means in this case telling the remainers to accept the vote which we’ve all luckily been given.

There you go again. Your such an arrogant prick that you think only your opinion is the right one. Did it ever enter your mind that the remainers who are moaning feel just as strongly about their opinions being the right one? That maybe they said “I will never accept a leave result”?
None of which changes the fact that you are a hypocrite. I will never accept a remain verdict and will dispute it but now its went my way everyone else is to shut up and accept it" is the very definition of a hypocrite.

BTW, dont think I dont know what you’re doing. You’ve been exposed as a massive hypocrite and now you’re trying to shift things on and change the subject. Wont work.
