I cannot sleep - I think i am worried that i am not ignoring this post enough…
Don’t worry Rog - you’re doing fine. Lack of sleep is normal under these circumstances.
ROG might be getting a bit confused with the ignoring rules here.
Just to sort that out for him, the rules are that you can only do ‘reduced’ ignoring three times per week.
At all other times in a week, the full ignoring rules apply.
does that apply to domestic and aetr as well? anyone notice that if you do 1minutes digital ignoring that it sometimes equates to 3 minutes?..Um not that I noticed… cos after all…I was ignoring it wasn’t I?
Remember two things though; the forum rules did not change as regards compensation of reduced hours and it does not run on UTC. So if you reduce your ignoring you will still have to pay it back by the end of the third week (unless there is a “y” in the month and your birthday is in a month without a “y” or you have had suffiecient ignoring in the previous 10 ignored days, whether weekend ignoring or not). HOWEVER, because the board does not use UTC the only way to make up the reduced hours will be to move to another EU country where the clocks are at least one hour ahead of ours and stay there until a) you have paid back any compensation due and b) until you start your weekly rest period. Ignoring whilst on a ferry (unless double-manned) does not count towards your compensation unless you are outside the 15 mile cod fishing limit. Bank holidays will only count as 8 hours ignoring unless you are actually actively ignoring the thread during that time, in which case it will count as time and a half except for the purposes of paying back reduced hours.
Forgot to say that if you are ignoring digitally, you should keep a written record of any ignoring you do when not looking at the post - a computer prinout is not acceptable for this purpose, and photocopies may only be submitted if they are of the actual screen.
I’m ignoring digitally now, I just up-graded. And yes, it does sometimes record 2 minutes of ignoring for a minute of actual ignoring. But I don’t mind, it improves my ignoring stats a bit.
seems to me that a chap can’t do an honest day’s ignoring without getting bogged down in tekno…tecni…difficult things! BTW got called an ignorant git yesterday (she loves me really!), does this mean i get grandad rights for an ignorers cpc?
I just noticed that there is another ignore thread on the new drivers forum. Where do we stand if we are ignoring two at the same time - should we declare both together or treat them seperately? Can we ignore one at weekends and the other during the week without compromising our total hours?
BRICKBLOCKMICK:

I started to ignore the other one as personally I felt all the experience i could get would be valuable on the CV. To be honest declaring POA when actually I am actively ignoring the othr thread. If I can get someone to double-man with me on the ignoring, I should get back to running legal on the WTD.
Has anyone established what the penalties are for going over ignoring hours? Do you get parked up at an RDC and get ignored more than usual? Do persistant ignoring hours infringements result in revocation of your license to ignore. Given that I have grandfather rights, would that be possible?

Hi BRICKBLOCKMICK , WELCOME.
Ignoring can take place from a safe distance, if you’ve observed the weekly and fortnightly ignoring rules.
Once you start ignoring it you are deemed to be ignoring it unless you declare that you are not ignoring it (in which case you must be ignoring something else) so you cannot start again. Once you are in you are in for life
