This time a picture of a DAF 2500 tractor. Yare Haulage was the owner and it was working fore Frans Maas U.K. Great-Yarmouth.
Al the best, Bert
Happy New Year to you Bert,
Yare Haulage was a wholly owned subsidery off Frans Maas at the time that that truck was owned by them, effectively Frans Maas haulage.
I beleave that it had once been an independant company, and that when Frans Maas opened their operations in Great Yarmouth they brought the company, maybe for the Operators license.
I spent the year 2004 as a driver for Yare Haulage, though I left just before they were taken over by DFDS/DSV.
Most of my time doing work for Frans Maas, was working for other hauliers as a subby to Frans Maas.
Donāt know if these have been on before. Apologies if they have.

I cant remember the hualier name, but they used to work mainly from Immingham doing unaccompanied trailers for Frans Maas Scandanvian services (scanside). I was on Scanside for a couple of years out of Harwich and sometimes Immingham and would run with there drivers from time to time.
Bert Wolters:
Hi Eddie,
Transpeed of Grimsby
Thanks Graham, I wouldnt say Iāve lost sleep over it, but it is irritating when you cant bring something to recall.
The F12 as mentioned at the top off the comment, was the motor I had for the time I was on scanside.
Hi Bert! Got passed by this the other day

Ok, I remembered that bit wrongly, but that looks a great line up in blue and yellow.
Your lads used to be in Stallingborough (Immingham) depot a lot, aswell as the running from Immingham terminal.
Do You or your Family operate any trucks these days
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Hi EBREWISTER,
This is also a photo of one of the tractors of your dads company.

Merry Christmas Bert, and these photos are making Me feel old, but keep them coming
Chalkey,
I remember most of those lads from P&O, and Roadways that did Italy for Frans Maas. Used to meet up with them every week at Piotello, Milano. As I remember Kevin ? At Roadways had a old Red Scania registered GEO 1V, this was driven for quite a time either to Italy or Switzerland Muttenz, Basle, by a lad called John Boy. Me and my lads used to Wind him up all the time calling him Brummie. āOim not a Bludie Brommie, Oi com from Litchfeeldā. Doctor Johnson cam from Litchfeeld, Weāer a famus Citeeā
Those were great days, easy work and good Money. We subbed out of Manchester for a couple of years. Italy and Swiss, one a week, whichever one they gave us.
That was MGM at Piotello, Somasi Trans was the agent for FM, did many trips there for Ital Freight, mostly out of Brownhills. I have fond memories of the place as I had a bit of crumpet sorted out there and never had to sleep in my lorry while I was there. I didnāt do much sleeping at her place either, which is where the fond memories come from
Frans Maas was a good company (his villa on the top of Venlo) amongst Van Strien, Willems and others,
unfortunately forced to sell to KLM and other āstrangeā investorsā¦hence the sudden death of activities

Youāre right about that reg belonging to Kevin/ Roadways. GEO 1V as I remember it was on a dark blue Tag axled 111, in the early 90ās as I recall it. A chap called Tim drove it on unaccompanied work for Frans Maas mainly out off Felixstowe.
