Hi Bert. Welcome to TrucknetHeres a few photos for you.
This Scania 140 was owned by a mate way back in the 1980’s (had to be didnt it )
He ran from Brownhills to Rotterdam 2 or 3 times a week.
TWO WAYS FREIGHT (you call it “NO WAYS FREIGHT” )
Another Brownhills truck… As far as I know, they were all owner drivers, but maybe someone knows different?
Think this photo came from CHALKY…cant remember Appologies if it was from someone else.
Hope you enjoy these Bert.

The late Francis Tipple ran Frans Haulage. He had a DAF 1900 rigid, a Ford Cargo 18 tonner rigid, a AWD TL 7.5 tonner, a Ford Cargo tractor unit, which was replaced with a DAF 95 unit & he then bought another DAF 95 & the Scania. All these worked for Frans Maas out of Great Yarmouth.

Hello Bert, Frans Haulage did try other work, but always went back to Frans Maas, except for a Seddon Atkinson strato which he put on refrigerated work out of Bernard Matthews (but this was because the driver had contacts in the cold store office & always seemed to get good work). Both the photos you found were two of the lorries I drove during my time there.

Hi Norfolktrucker,
This photo where you write about is taken by Scrap & Trading Company Coenen at Weert in the Netherlands. Some of thoose old trailers are now sold to hobby people to restore it and brings it back in the old condition.
This DAF 2600 tractor is pulld away afther 28 years fore scrap. The traler is sold to restore.

This photo brings us back to the mid 80’s. It’s taken in the port of Dover. We see a Volvo F9 tractor of the company Lanham’s i think with a Dutch trailer of Frans Maas. Who nows more about this company and from where was it working out. Witch depot of Frans Maas U.K. Who can tel more.
Al the best, Bert
Hi Bert!
That Volvo F86 belonged to Walter Lanham from Ormesby Saint Michael, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, still going strong today!!!
Regards, Pete
Hi Pete, thanks fore the inf about that Volvo of Walter Lanham.
Here i have a photo of VW Transporter of Frans Maas U.K. depot Great-Yarmouth. Possibly the weirdest thing ever loaded on an FM vehicle … yes the Yarmouth Oil Services van disguised as a carnival float in '86!
photo: Philip Marshall
This VW Transporter was the fist littel truck from Kevin Smith. He did some miles in that. He remembers he drove all the way from Great-Yarmouth to Aberdeen with a envelope with some oil seals for a helicopter. He had to go streight back as they were the wrong ones
Al the best, Bert
A other littel truck was this Ford Transit frome the sub-contractor Steve Neate out Manchester. He was working fore Frans Maas U.K. depot Manchester in the end 70’s and early 80’s.
Al the best, Bert.
Here we see a photo from Steve Neate.
