Welcome to the forum, you know you’ll get no sleep now you,ve found this lot !!!

As you may well tell from this thread, I used to work for a sub contractor (Lee Durose Int.) out of Manchester 89 - 92 and used to drop groupage quite often in brownhills, would love to see any photos you have.

Yes i a’m back from my holiday in France. I was at Frejus in the Provence. I had 4 weeks nice wetter and no rain. Now back home and it’s raining.
Thanks for placing the photos. In deed it 's al DSV work now in the U.K. and the Frans Maas trailers comes to the end. Tomorrow i go on with placing photos on the site.

Welcome to the forum of Frans Maas. I was driver by Frans Maas Groningen at the Netherlands. We did must of driving to Scandinavian. I have never been to the U.K. for Frans Maas.

In may 2005 driver Jan Schuitema stops as worker for Frans Maas Groningen and start for his own as driver. He was the fist own driver who starts to pull for Frans Maas as ex Frans Maas worker. He starts with an DAF 95 XF 430 Superspacecab tractor.

On the end of 2005 bad wetter was comming for the drivers of Frans Maas Groningen. Not only rain and snow.

In that time the fist 4 olders DAF tractors are not replacet for new ones bud four rent tractors.

In that time the fist drivers with an contract for particular time are not longer lengthen and leaved the company.

On the end of 2005 and in early 2006 various drivers leave the company. Agen 3 drivers, Bert Sportel, Theo v.d. Horn and Erik Holt start as own driver and pulld for Frans Maas Groningen.

In the early of 2006 the 4 rent tractors ar replacet for 2 new DAF 95 XF 430 tracktors. It was in the blue company colours but with no yellow line and name on it. :open_mouth: :unamused:


Wy this was happend nobody can tel at that moment.


4 weeks later we no wats going to happen.

Akka Frakt was the sub contractor for Frans Maas Sweden at Malmö. Frans Maas had an part of the lager in Malmö. The office of Frans Maas was near the port by the ferry from the Nordö Linje. Fist with the papers to the office and then to the lager to onload the groupage.

They are the same tractor, Lee only had the one in Frans Maas colours, which was Reg No. 6941 FM, he then sold it to another haulier A J Taylor, he kept the Reg No and put it on one of his new Scania which was in the blue and white colours, A J Taylor then sub contracted to Lee on Frans Maas.
