In the end of february 2006 the rumour by Frans Maas was that we had an close collaboration with DSV-Samson from Danmark. DSV-Samson was het mother company of D.F.D.S. Transport. We sel pull for them the trailers from the ferry ports to the Netherlands onload them, load them agen, bring them back to the ferry ports also to the lagers of D.F.D.S. in Horsens and Bronby in Danmark.
On the end of february and early march 2006 we pull more fore D.F.D.S. to Danmark. At that time we had more D.F.D.S. trailers at the yard at Groningen.
In march 2006 we heard that Royal Frans Maas Group was sold to the Danish company DSV- Samson at Copenhage. The shares, on the Dutch stockmarket, was till 26 march 2006. This was the last day of Royal Frans Maas Group with an Dutch director. The next day we had an Danish management.
From that day we did more work together with D.F.D.S. Transport.
At rest in Danmark on the way to Esbjerg. This was the last trip to Danmark/Jutland in order for Frans Maas.
For the last time at Padborg, D.K. Here i had for the last time my nigthrest in order for Frans Maas.
Stil we get more work to do with D.F.D.S. trailers.
D.F.D.S. had good new trailers but the rong name on it.
This was stil more to see. D.F.D.S. trailers at home at Groningen.
Then we had Frans Maas trailers. Here onloding at Kerkrade, in the south of the Netherlands.
Waithing for order at Kerkrade. Now we had also to do with D.F.D.S. Transport.
Between march and june 2006 we did diverend work. Fist we drived for Frans Maas but also for D.F.D.S… If we drived for Frans Maas always the groupage get load of unload on the terminals from Frans Maas. Big parts we load of onload by us self.
If we work for D.F.D.S. Wat we load of onload always we do it by us self. Samtimes we came on an terminal from D.F.D.S. in Helsinborg, Versteras to Venlo with an little bit of groupage.
Loading an little bit of groupage at D.F.D.S. lager at Venlo.

Bert,
sorry for the delay in putting some more pictures on here for you, I have had real trouble with this computer. I am off on holiday for a week, when I return I will put some more on. In the meantime here are a few I hope haven’t been put on here, the trouble is this thread is so large now it takes so long to look back and check! Hopefully you have not seen these.
getting ready for the East Coast Truckers Charity Convoy, FM Tilbury Mercedes
In 2005 a group of us from FM Tilbury took part in the London to Cambridge Charity Bike Ride, and used one of the Daf’s to carry the bikes there.
This is the M20 in what is now a regular sight, a queue for the ferry ports/channel tunnel due to a strike/bad weather. I climbed up onto one of the bridges to take the picture, we had some red TransAmerica rental trailers at the time. I do recall that it took 8 hours to reach the Channel Tunnel terminal !
Fellow drivers Ken Yieldham and Ted Whittle taking lunch in the queue ! My good friend Ted sadly died in an accident in Belgium some years later. Note that we had both 3 and 4 series Scanias at that time.

Hello Dieselcowboy,
Good to see you back on the site. Do you had an nice holiday? I diddend see those photos before. Sorry to reed about Ted Whittle but late hem R.I.P.
I no indeed if you have traffic jam by the ferrys of strike it’s alway the question wen you can go on. Especially if you ar on the way at home. It can make you mad. Also if the country that you must cross to go home voor the weekend have an public holyday and it’s not aloud to drive and you must wait for 24 hours to go on. Special France and Germany.
EUROMAT:

Thanks and regards, Bert Wolters
Bert,
You are right with the 1st one, it is me parked on the Spanish border at Lajonquara in 1990, the 2nd & 3rd were owned by the same guy John Oldaker - most on here will know him as ‘’ Popeye’’ both ran out of Manchester generally to Germany.
Maybe some one nows more about John Oldaker nickname “Popeye” and Steve Neate.
Steve Neate is now transport manager for S3 Freight Manchester U.K. but also drive the trucks from time to time.
