handbag:
Hello Bert That was a prompt reply to my posting… Yes I Have quite a few photos of this MAN and I will try to post them on this site but all this technology is new to me and I struggle a bit… I am 70 years old now and still driving but only part time just to keep my hand in… The MAN’s were the only trucks in Frans Maas colours The others were DAF 95’s painted cream & red Belgian registered from Antwerp I can’t just remember the name it was 3 letters containing an A for Antwerp in the name it will come to me later I am sure… We used to have a great time going to Turkey A lad called John Hiscock (Male Model) used to run with me in a DAF and before the days of speed limiters we used to chase up through Greece… The Man had a speed limiter fitted but it only used to come on at 120k/h I could not catch John becausehis Daf had no limiter and he used to clear off at 130 or 140 no kidding The Greeks would try to race us but they used to bottle out at 110 All the best Handbag

Hallo Handbag.

Yes, that was the old times. I never drived so fast but i can remember in those days that driving in Sweden and Holland with a speed from 120 km. In the night 3.30 hours from Bergen op Zoom to Groningen. This was in the time we had no speed limited on the tractors. The truck i drived now has a limited from 85 km. And still i get the speed tickets.
I dont no if you live here in Holland but maybe i can help you with the photos. Let me no.

Hallo Handbag,

Just logged on, fantastic those photos from you trips to Greece and Turkey. Special the photos in the snow. I remember the same trips to the north off Danmark, Sweden and Norway in the winter times. Driving in the snow, get to rest and the next morning one meter off snow next to the weels. Then waiting till the snowtrucks of buldoser to get you out off the snow. If you was load with much off tons off cargo on the driving ash then it was possilbile to get on. Otherwise you must wait till the road was clean off snow. I belive you now wat i mean.

Handbag, to get the photos underneach other you must logged in, name, pasword. Go to the post subjet and go to edit, clik with the mouse. Then the photo subjet is open. You do between eath [/img] one press with the next line down button. Then you see that the line starts on the left side off the field. If you do that by al the rules the photos are then underneach other. Then perss on Submit and its finnishd. Good luck.

In that time you had also more sub contractors with tractors in Frans Maas colours.

Scania 113M 400 from the sub contractor Har Vaessen from Swalmen.

In 1995 Royal Frans Maas Group sold Frans Maas Transport Venlo and the Frans Maas Garage to Inter Zuid Transport Groep. That hold in the tractors, motortrucks for long distance and the trucks for area transport are sold. Also the garage. Drivers and mechanics are going over to the new company Interzuid. From that moment only Frans Maas Groningen had is own tractors, motortrucks and service tuck in the colours off Frans Maas Groningen. Also in that moment Frans Maas Sweden, Danmark became the sub contractors the colours off Frans Maas Groningen. I dont no if Frans Maas U.K. the sub contractors still driving in the colours off Frans Maas. Let me no?

Hi Bert

I used to work at Frans Maas, Manchester many moons ago., I also met my future wife there. We both left and after a few years my wife started working for DFDS. Therefore she has gone full circle and now ended up back at the new DSV site
Strange how things turn out.

I will try and sort some pics out for you

Hello Bert Facinating photos you have posted… I am afraid I made a bit of a mess of posting mine… I will try to put it right… I had to go to Ireland Last sunday to the horse racing in Galway… Although I am retired my old boss rings me when he is stuck… We carry the large Mitsubishi Giant Television screens to these events and I have just got back…It is a bit dissapointing to see the new Frans Maas colours… They are not as imposing as the old blue and yellow If I find any more photos I will post them … Handbag…
