Anything or anyone  be more specific :exclamation:

both lol

i side swiped a car on the north circular 2 months ago.
he was in my blind spot, we were only going at 20 mph through the roadworks.
he tried overtaking on the inside, i only broke his mirror. thank god.

On my very first run as a ‘professional’ driver, I was in a 7.5t despite having passed my Class 1 the month before and feeling confident as I was a Class 1 driver and this was only a van.
I squeezed through a gap at traffic lights and turned left. About a mile up the road (I was lost in Halifax also) a car was flashing me to stop. I’d hit the passenger side with the tail swing and knackered the door on an old couple’s car and took their mirror off. Gutted! Made a right ■■■ of myself. Brought me down a peg or two though. Hit a few things since then, pallets, a gate but nothing like that. I learned my lesson that day!

Do gobby RDC staff and FLT ‘drivers’ count?!

I put the neck of the trailer inside a rear quarter window on a parked car in croydon town centre last year, he was on double yellows. Had a car drive into the side of me in high wycombe last week, hopefully going to court about it as he thinks it was my fault and i think it was his fault :unamused: So much so i even printed some stuff off of Rob Ks thread about zip merging and stapled it to the insurance form
I also wrote off my first RS turbo when i was 17, a polish van driver came out of a cross road and i T boned him. Apart from that its been plain sailing for me

Was doing a class 2 job in Peckham many moons ago, took a wrong turning so reversed into a side street where there was a street market going on.
I didn’t see the posts on the side of the pavement that I knocked over  and only knew about it when a Black chap came over and said to me " Hey Man ! We been tryin to get d council to remove dem posts for ages, tank you very much '" .

Reversing out of a builders merchant one day I was a bit too close to the metal gate on my nearside and when turning the trailer onto the road (and looking in my offside mirror) I basically wiped the mirrors off the supports on the other side…

Not a major hassle, and no problem for the boss, but a massive dent in both my pride and ego!

I hit my own car once in the yard,

As Greggy, but travelling up the M1 in 1992, some lady on nr side, didn’t even know where she came from. I suspect off the A41 towards Scratchwood Services, Her Fiesta summersaulted 3 times, engine came out, Not nice. She was airlifted to hospital by helicopter still in the car seat. I was doing less than 55mph. 8 points and £400 fine. Made me think twice from then on.

If you’d only pushed her up the motorway you’d have a commendation from the TC.

Anyway, too many embarrassing mistakes to mention personally; only a few really but that’s too many. The one I can retell was whilst delivering to a place down some Devon lanes (and remember some A roads down there are single track); went in, came back down the same 10ft wide road to a huge bang and jolt - it was a bit of a windy day and a small tree was sticking out of a bank a few inches below the top of the box - knocked the ■■■■ tree out of the ground!. Drove back OK with a more aerodynamic structure but it all had to be redone at a lower height now and considerable cost of course. I would never have thought that clearance would be lower on the same bit of road half an hour later but there you go.

had a couple of minor bumps since i passed my class 2 6 years ago, first was when i was reversing into a place in manchester and managed to get security bollard tucked behind the front bumper. 1st i knew was when half the bumper flew done road in front of me :open_mouth:

the second time i was coming through a tight gateway and turned too soon and ripped the curtain in 2 top to the bottom.

The only major bump i had was up by the little house on the m62, a woman in a car had a blow out as she was over taking me and swerved into the barrier then back into the side of me. Her car was totalled but thankfully she was unhurt but very shook up. The truck had the underrun ripped off, the outer rear tyre ripped off the rim and the curtain reduced to ribbons.

Thankfully only catching empty stillages with the rear guard and “rubbing” mirrors with a lorry comming the other way through tight city roadworks but only been driving it 3 years :open_mouth:

We’ve all hit something!

Me, I hit a gatepost in Maesteg, South Wales with the back pillar of my trailer once. Quite a loud bang and a bit of twisted metal (on the trailer, the gate was fine!)

I also hit a massive bright yellow bollard a few years ago in Argonaught Pk, Colnbrook in one of our 18 tonners. The bollard wasn’t a problem as most of the others had been wiped out over the years but the tail lift was a mess! Oops!

Have had a few other minor scrapes. Nothing a touch up kit doesn’t fix.

Clipped the Diesel Tank Hanger twice once on my first stralis and then on my second stralis, First one was in the middle of London reversing down a side road watching my passenger side i missed the higher than normal kerb on my drivers side, then the second I was sent to an insulation firm thats base is down a very narrow lane in Pembury there was a concrete step hiden in the undergrowth, pushed the hanger out of alignment thats about it. Had a somerfield truck take my wingmirror off in Magor services and one of our own drivers side swiped me pulling out of South Mimms. No doubt in my career I will have more just try and ensure they aint my fault lol.

Not me but me old man was driving his car out the yard one night and didn’t see one of the trailers for the artics, and went right under the pin ‘go faster dent/paint scratch’ down the roof.

Luckily being a tipper firm, him and the security guard were the only ones there…so he lived it down a bit.

Rubbed up against a car in a tight little yard, reversed into a post (only gently), lost one mirror to a hedge and another to a bridge trying to avoid an artic that came screaming round the corner the other side of it (seperate occasions) reversed into a big wooden crate and broke a back light, reversed into a pile of rubbish and broke a back light. Think that’s it - that’s in four years though so not as bad as it sounds.

in cars;

Wrote my first car off; raining, diesel on road, going too fast with binding rear brake that I’d been meaning to sort

Drove into the back of a car, lights went green and I set off as I checked a mirror - woman in front didn’t, too busy yelling at the kids by the looks of it  doh!

Assorted trees, street furniture and garden walls when I put one on its side.
Also maged to rear end a police car.
