I have asked a few people if they know the RR driver, just to embarrass the prick a bit more, but my house is on a busy road and I have witnessed a stand off between 2 double decker buses which was fun to watch.
Another time there was a standoff between a young girl and a driver in a Mercedes, (also in the wrong) The Mercedes driver had a seizure and wrote 5 cars off and knocked a pedestrian over

Looks like the Merc driver is being difficult in my opinion. The RR has already passed at least 2 other parked vans before meeting the Merc, as already stated theres a place the Merc could have waited at just out of the camera shot but he felt the need to keep going forward and block the road.
Mick
Thats your view, mine is much clearer and the Range Rover driver passed 3 places he could have waited. It is a bit difficult at the moment as there are several deliveries to the building site each day and after yesterdays parish council elections we may have more support for a one way system and to keep lorries off this narrow road.
ok on a similar vein ,when back in scotland i was on my run(6x2 rigid) near loaded to gross on a rainy day on a u/c rd ,the type o road that you dont look in n/s mirror as its near on the grass ! ā¦any way the road was around 10ml long(for those in the know scaur valley in dumfriesshire) i was about a mile o so in when a car caught me up lights flashing horn etc , so i stopped got out looked round back o truck then asked the guy driving whats wrong (man,woman,2 kids ) and he tells me get the ā ā out of my way !!!
i tell him that im not pulling onto verge as im loaded and verges are soft and it will only take 10mins or so to get to a wider spot ā¦ sooooo i walk back to cab & the ā ā ā ā blowing the horn, well he blew it for the next 8ml or so right up my bumper:P .
well i get to the wide spot and pull over ā¦he passes ,reverses back and tries to get as close to my bumper by now im in reverse and he keeps coming back! !im not a happy man by now and have my hand on me tyre thumper down side o the seat .
He gets out fn &blinding about trucks, scots men ,and believe me ā¦ He tried to do a citizens arrest on me!!! after showing me his Metropolitan police id card.lol i locked the cab door and started taking photos on me phone(no signal as was back o beyond)2-way radio no use either.anyway a local came out to see what was happening and the bawbag went back into car and fkd off ā¦
Well i phoned boss from the house and gave my side o the story an d was told stop at cop shop at thornhill and give his reg # and show the photos on phoneā¦ A bit later i called into cop shop and started to tell the cop on the desk the story and he called the sergeant in ,seems the met cop had came in demanding that they came out and arrest me for not letting him pass me the sergeant told him that hes not in london now and he had had a complaint from the local saying what he had done to me and if he wanted to procced with his complaint against me he would have to arrest him as well!! As you can imagine he slunk back to his car .
not sure if ERFguy can remember this happening to meā¦was on E27 run.
i came up behind a similar situation in brum a couple of years back. a young girl in a 205 and an middle aged man in a (you guessed it!) merc had met head on a canal bridge and neither would give way! they had quite a row about it until the girl calmly walked round the drivers side of the merc, reached through the open window, removed the keys from the ignition, threw them in the cut and drove off the way sheād come! the cheers from the builders working on the site next door were deafeningā¦
If I was the Merc driver I would have asked the RR driver if he was going to back up. Having then recieved a negative response I would have jumped out of the car, locked up and set the alarm then ā ā ā ā ā ā off.
Another one would be to ask if that was his RR, cos this wasnāt myMerc
As the owner of a RR without a private plateā¦as yetā¦I find it amazing that some of you actually believe the RR should back up for a ā¦MERCEDESā¦get real.
im sure that RR driver looks like a ā ā ā ā ā ā¦ sorry i mean ātravelling personā i saw on either crimewatch, rogue traders or one of the rip of showsā¦

But could the RR driver see the Merc approaching as he (RR) passed the suitable waiting places?
By the layout that can be seen in those pics, I would suggest not. If the road was clear as far as he could see ahead when he committed himself to start passing the parked vehicles, he is in the right.
Did you see it unfold Malcolm, or were you only attracted to the window by the disturbance?
It has to be said, the Merc driver hasnāt made much headway, so one would wonder at what point he came into the RR drivers view.
As others have said, a berk in a Merc & a chelsea tractor driver

I heard it unfold and saw the gaps between the parked vehicles. I also had time to stumble into the bedroom and find my camera. To me the bloke in the RR, just made it worse by acting all billy big ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā when he could have reversed back 20 metres into the lane end. The Merc driver didnāt need to leave his car yet still made BBB look stupid
Iād have said merc man was in the wrongā¦providing nothing was beyond that hi-top utilities van I think if Iād been in the Merc I would have eased off waited back there and just let RR boy through.

WTF, we drive on the left in the UK, and in fairness I live here, know what is parked on the road and the obstructions between the 3 road junctions.
After seeing the standoff between the double decker buses , the wrecked scaffolding and the bloke who wrecked 5 cars through raised blood pressure who then shut the road for 3 hours.
Enough is enough, and let us hope the local parish council can persuade the main council to enforce the weight limit and alter the signing. Am I a Nimby, you bet I am, it is a lovely historic village spoiled by idiots

It does look a nice area. There is a curve in the road, so vehicles approaching the obstruction on their left (the RR & Blue bus) will need to take up an early safety position to show themselves and in order to gain a view past the obstruction.
If, on seeing something coming, they then dive for cover back to the nearside, they would never be able to see when its clear to emerge. So i can see why what is occurring here is happening.
The utilities lot should be setting up temp. traffic lights.
Did the artic driver really think it would go round there?
Malc, perhaps you could get a picture taken from an approaching driverās view point when approaching with the obstruction and your place on their left? ā¦ and another one from the other side?
Looking at all those picsā¦ just the stuff youāve been around to see, maybe you should take a leaf out of this guyās book & set up a full time webcam?

I am tempted to treat that remark with the contempt it deserves, however, some of us here find it an interesting discussion. Certainly a bloody site more interesting than 3 pages on bits of hanging rubberā¦ remind me who started that thread again?
