I just got one of these pnavi satnavs. Used it for 3 days so far on roads im familiar with low bridges. They do avoid the low bridges and widths you programed into it. As for map updates. I did mine slso. Abit long winded but all is good. New A46 now appears

Hi I got the pnavi for a xmas prezzie.Used it abroad the first time this week and was impressed with it.Only thing is.I need to update the maps.Been onto the site and put my user code in.But can’t download them.See you have done it so any advice would be great thanks.

Mine is continually wrong and im learning not believe it gradually  went through Axminster town the other day, the residents looked surprised to see a wagon drag of straw  anyway was not too bad but coming back through (yes I learn slowly) on a different part of a one way system I had to turn between some buildings and if it wasn’t for the rear steer on the wagon id of been bollocksed.

Have you tried altering the actual route plaaning settings from shortest route or fastest route to see if that takes a different way.

That is the main road though (A358), yes it is tight but the sat nav is not to blame.

Go to freemapsupdate.com

download whichever maps you want…

After downloading, please unzip the file to several files
Connect the GPS to the computer
Open the file on the GPS (path:Primo\content\map) to find "UK or other country you wish to update
Delete the file
Copy and paste the new map file into it . .Make sure the file extension you put in matches the one you removed. ie FPL FBA FDA or FSP
Disconnect the gps from the computer

PS: the download maps can’t be opened in your computer. It’s not compatible with computers. But don’t worry, the files are ok in the gps

Turn on the GPS
Please scroll the main menu to second page
click “navi path”icon,
you will see the path is /ResidentFlash/Primo/igo.exe.
click the blue button of the bar
click" /ResidentFlash"->“PRIMO”-> “igo.exe”->“ok”.

Don’t know if this link will work, anyone got any comments on this?

in reply to an earlier posting about maps on the tomtom xxl, they can go on but it takes some shoe horning as you only get an internal 2gb storage.

Well I’ve had s TT 7150 for over 3 years now and it hasn’t let me down. Only on the odd occasion has it had a fit and got confused, however I have found that the re-route plan if you come up against a hazard isn’t very good, it’s just seems to send you down the nearest street to get away from it resulting in more problems.
I’ve taken the decision to sell my TT 7150 as you get bugger all support from tomtom and I was unable to update my maps. After some surfing the net I’ve decided to try a snooper this time, if it’s as good as the TT 7150 I’ll be very happy.
SB.

Today my snooper turned up, after a short while it’s now set up and running. I thought I’d give it a quick test knowing that I have a 7.5t weight limit close by and what has it gone and done? Sent me straight down the 7.5t weight limit and to round things off their is absolutely no way you’d get an arctic down that road without getting stuck.
Straight away I know I can’t trust this device and am thinking about sending it back already. My old tt7150 was pretty bullet proof when it came to routing and very rarely let me down.
So far, snooper 0-1 TT 7150.
