I’d have said that with hindsight, but then the driver probably would have still tried to get past probably knocking the cyclist off in the attempt.

As a truck driver/ cyclist (Lycra lout) I see it from both sides, I try and avoid dual carridge ways at all costs!!! Blumin muppet car driver!
Let’s face it whatever the driver would have done I think the ■■■■■■ was determined to get pass.
Stupid car driver and that driver knew it was stupid because it moved into the same lane as the LGV to pass the second cyclist
That wants forwarding to the old bill, hopefully they can clean the image up enough to get the registration of the twerp, if i was a copper i’d take great delight in throwing the book at him.
I too give two wheeler users a full lane whenever possible to reduce the draught to a minimum, never had an idiot quite as bad that one though.

Yesterday, there was a cycle race using part of A14 and A11 near Newmarket. It was causing chaos, a bike every 500 yards, so trucks had to pull out, then pull back in, then pull out again. For a bust Saturday afternoon, cars were braking, causing bunching. Who in their right mind would run a cycle race along a busy stretch of A road, especially after fatal incidents on roads like the A1 etc. I am sure there are better places to hold these events which would be a lot safer the cyclists.

When I was involved in cycle sport 30+years ago ,the events were organised mainly early on a Sunday morning.You see all sorts of sponsored bike things taking place nowadays that dont require the same regulation that we had to comply with.
Had exactly the same thing happen to me last Sunday on the A55 pulled out to overtake a group of cyclists and a grade one idiot then undertook me and nearly wiped out the cyclists seems that they are all over the country. But do agree staging a time trial on the A55 is probably not the wisest of moves

I’ve seen cyclists on the A2 heading out of town coming up to the Danson exit on the part where there is no hard shoulder!!
